Police are reminding people to look after yourself and others events across Waikato this long weekend.

One such event is Festival one, which will be taking place at Hartford Farm, Cambridge from 27 January to 30 January.

Police urge those attending to keep safe and look after those around you.

We all have a responsibility to ensure our friends and loved ones are safe this summer, so keep an eye out and report any concerns you may have.

Police offer the following advice for those attending these events:

-have a plan for any unexpected circumstances

-prepare adequately and make sure you are appropriately equipped

-make sure your phone is fully charged

-have a plan to meet up with your friends if you get separated

-report any issues to Police

Call 111 in an emergency if something is happening right now, illegal or suspicious.

If it’s already happened, you can provide information via the Police non-emergency number – call 105 or go online at 105.police.govt.nz.
