Police arrest Gisborne man in connection with October shooting

Police in Gisborne have arrested and charged a 30-year-old man with two firearms offences after a pre-planned search warrant today.

The offences relate to a shooting on 6 October 2022 and a further charge of unlawful possession of ammunition has been laid after more ammunition was found today.

The man is expected to appear in the Gisborne District Court on 23 January.

Police will continue to investigate these historical shooting incidents and hold those responsible to account.
