Police advise that the Thames Coast Road, Windy Point is closed just north of Thames.
Due to current weather conditions a cliff has become unstable and is likely to collapse.
Police advise people to stay off the roads, if possible, as the only diversion is State Highway 25A Kopu – Hikua which could be obstructed by current weather conditions.
