Motorists are advised of delays on State Highway 23 at Whatawhata following a crash.
It happened around 5pm and involved a car colliding with a power pole near Heddon Road.
There were no significant injuries, however, power lines are down and traffic is backing up in both directions.
The road is likely to be blocked for some time.
Motorists are asked to delay travel or take alternate routes.
