One person has died following a serious crash in Ponatahi, near Carterton earlier this morning.
Police were notified of the two-vehicle crash on Ponatahi Road at around 8:35am.
Sadly, one person died at the scene.
A second person has been seriously injured.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
The road is expected to be closed for some time to allow emergency services to attend.
Diversions are in place at Ponatahi Road and Kokotau Road.
