Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to a crash involving a cyclist earlier this year.

The incident occurred at around 9.30am on 13 October 2022 at the intersection of Pataua North Road and Parkes Road, Whangārei.

Sadly, a 73-year-old male died in hospital on 25 October 2022 as a result of the crash.

As part of our investigation, Police are trying to piece together the events that occurred leading up to the crash, however we don’t believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.

There are a number of people who assisted the cyclist following the crash.

We understand those witnesses were two women in white and grey vehicles, respectively, as well as a man in a vehicle towing a trailer.

As the only witnesses, we are urging them to get in touch with Police, so we can establish exactly what happened.

Anyone who can assist us with our enquiries is asked to contact Police via 105 quoting file number 221025/8245.

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers via 0800 555 111.

ENDS.
