Why we are updating the code

We want your feedback about proposed changes to the Operational Code: Processing of Seafood Products.

The code is being updated to:

  • reflect the regulatory changes that were made to the legislation under the Animal Products Act 1999 that came into effect on 1 July 2022
  • include minor technical changes to procedures
  • update links and remove outdated information.

In particular, the updates have been made to the code to reflect the:

In the draft operational code, most of the proposed changes have been identified in red text. Some of the legislation that has now expired has been deleted completely to assist with readability.
