One person has died following a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 12 in Waimamaku.
The report of the collision was received around 10.39am, and Police attended with emergency services.
Sadly, one person died at the scene.
A second person, in the other vehicle, has sustained moderate injuries and was transported to hospital for assessment.
The road is partially closed while the scene is attended to, with one lane open.
However, motorists are asked to avoid the area between Waimamaku Beach Road and Mitchell Road as far as possible, until further notice.
