Police are now able to name the pedestrian killed in Palmerston North on Friday night.
He was Thomas David Martin, age 59.
Mr Martin was walking on the footpath in Roslyn around midnight when a vehicle struck him. He sadly died at the scene.
Passengers in the vehicle were also injured.
A decision on what charges the driver may face will not be confirmed until a full investigation is complete.
This is likely to take some months.
The investigation team are working with Mr Martin’s family and giving them support.
