Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection of Longburn Rongotea Road and No. 1 Line following a crash.
It involved two vehicles and happened around 8:50pm.
One person was taken to hospital in serious condition.
The intersection is currently closed and motorists are asked to take alternate routes.
