From 16 September you will be receiving a personalised voting pack in your letterbox. Look out for the purple envelope that is your ticket to choosing the mayor, councillors and local board members who will shape decisions for Auckland over the next three years.

What’s in the purple envelope?

Inside is a voting guide, your voting paper and an orange prepaid return envelope.

Read the guide and tick the circle next to the candidates you think has the greatest vision for Tāmaki Makaurau.

If the guide doesn’t have enough information on the candidates for you to choose, look up candidate information profiles and find out what they stand for at voteauckland.co.nz/findcandidates.

Your completed voting paper goes in the orange envelope to be dropped into one of the many Vote Boxes across Tāmaki Makaurau or in a New Zealand Post street post box. Postal votes need to be posted by 4 October 2022 to be received in time.

You’ll find a Vote Box on your next trip to an Auckland Countdown supermarket, select Auckland Transport hubs, Auckland Council libraries, council service centres or even at some night markets. There will be Vote Boxes popping up at popular sites across Auckland so it’s that easy to vote.

See here for a map of fixed Vote Box locations or scan the QR code on the back of the orange envelope.

Voting closes at midday on Saturday 8 October 2022.

Why should I vote?
