Man arrested in relation to Whakatāne hit and run

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in relation to a hit and run on Matirerau Street in Whakatāne on 21 June.

The man will appear in Whakatāne District Court tomorrow, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police have also located the white sedan believed to be involved.

The victim remains in a serious but stable condition in Waikato Hospital.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing and we would like to hear from anyone with information who has not yet spoken to Police.
