Police can confirm one person has died following the earlier serious crash involving a van and a truck on SH6 Kaituna.
A second person has serious injuries.
The crash, on SH6 between Lamberts and Camerons Roads, was reported to Police about 1.40pm.
The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
