Information for tertiary education organisations (TEOs)
We administer pre-purchased English tuition funding on behalf of Immigration New Zealand. The funding comes from payments made by migrants to Immigration New Zealand at the time of their visa application. The purpose of the funding is so the migrant can enrol in migrant-focused English language courses.
The total balance of entitlement per migrant varies depending on the migrant’s English language proficiency at the time of their visa application.
The funding may only be used for English language courses offered by PELT-approved TEOs. The funding covers the student fees for the course(s) the migrant wishes to enrol in.
We pay the migrant’s student fees to their chosen approved TEO once we receive the TEO’s confirmation of the migrant’s enrolment in their chosen approved PELT course(s).
To enrol a migrant learner, email a:
completed enrolment form (Word, 174 Kb) and
a copy of the migrant’s visa and passport
to our Customer Contact Group at customerservice@tec.govt.nz.
Note: Submit the form and passport and visa copies 10 working days or more after the student has started the course.
Please contact our Customer Contact Group by email at customerservice@tec.govt.nz or by phone on 0800 601 301 if you have any questions.
