One lane of State Highway 30 has re-opened following a serious two-car crash at Kapenga, near Rotorua.
Police were called to the incident at around 12.15pm. One person has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic management is in place and motorists should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
Enquiries in to the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
