SH29 is closed and diversions are in place following a crash in the Lower Kaimai Range, near Belk Road.
The crash, between a car and a van, occurred about 11:25am.
Four people are injured – one seriously, one moderately, and two have received minor injuries.
Motorists should avoid the area or expect delays.
