Emergency services are responding to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Horahora Road and SH1, Piarere.
Police were alerted to the crash just before 3.40pm.
Two people have been injured – one person has serious injuries and the other has moderate injuries.
The road is closed and diversions are in place.
