Police can confirm one person has died in a crash on the Gibbston Valley Highway this morning.
The crash involved two vehicles, and one left the road and went down a bank.
The occupant of that vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other people with injuries in the second vehicle were taken to Lakes District Hospital.
One lane is now open and traffic control is in place. Motorists are asked to have patience while backlog clears.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
