Police have arrested two people in Eastern Bay of Plenty for drugs and firearms offences.
The Eastern Bay of Plenty Precision Targeting Team and Tactical Crime Unit supported by Kawerau and Edgecumbe Police have executed search warrants in both Kawerau and Edgecumbe last week in a continuing, concerted effort to disrupt the methamphetamine trade in the area.
In Kawerau, a 33-year-old woman has been remanded in custody following a search warrant at a Kawerau address and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine for supply, possession of cannabis for supply and unlawful possession of ammunition. She will appear in the Whakatane District Court on December 17.
In Edgecumbe a 39-year-old man has been remanded in custody following a search warrant at an Otakiri address and faces charges of dealing methamphetamine and unlawful possession of ammunition. He has been remanded in custody until he appears in the Whakatane District Court on December 7.
Police are committed to stamping out the devastating methamphetamine trade in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and will continue to put pressure on those who ply this trade, often to our most vulnerable communities.
