MITO New Zealand (MITO) has had its transition plan approved by the Board of the Tertiary Education Commission.

MITO works with the automotive, commercial road transport, drilling, gas, industrial textile fabrication, mining and quarrying, passenger services and ports and stevedoring industries. It supports 2,853 employers, 4,397 apprentices and 1,051 trainees as at September 2021.
MITO maintains 73 training programmes, including 13 micro-credentials.
MITO’s employees, systems, processes and procedures will transition to Te Pūkenga subsidiary Work-Based Learning Ltd on 1 January 2022, where it will become a separately branded business division.
A small contingent of industrial textile fabrication learners will transition to a new PTE, MAST Academy.
MITO is the fifth Transitional ITO to have its transition plan approved by the Board. It follows Competenz, NZMAC ITO, Connexis and BCITO.
