Firth Street/SH 27 in Matamata is closed following a serious crash.
It happened just after 10am, south of the intersection with Short Street.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
Further clarity on the circumstances is still being confirmed, however motorists are asked to follow diversions while a scene examination is carried out.
