Auckland Lantern Festival 2022 is back with a roar.
Celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome in the Year of the Tiger at Auckland Showgrounds, 10-13 February 2022.
The Auckland Lantern Festival is Auckland’s biggest cultural festival and New Zealand’s premier annual four-day festival celebrating Chinese New Year, Chinese culture and Auckland’s Chinese communities.
This free, popular, family friendly festival showcases hundreds of elaborate handmade Chinese lanterns, cultural song, music, and dance performances, craft demonstrations, sponsor activations and competitions, retail and food stalls, and a ends with a stunning fireworks display.

The Auckland Lantern Festival is delivered by Auckland Unlimited, on behalf of Auckland Council. The Asia New Zealand Foundation is a founding partner of the festival.
The Auckland Lantern Festival will be delivered in line with Ministry of Health guidance for major events at the time of the event.
