From Thursday 9 September all EIT campuses and regional learning centres in Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti will be open for students under Alert Level 2 (Delta).  We look forward to seeing you again. Here is some important  information to support returning to campus.

Welcome Back We know that returning to campus maybe an unsettling time, and you may have questions or need some support. On both the main campuses in Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti we will have staff welcoming you back. Look out for the gazebos at front of campus.

Your Learning Your programme coordinator will confirm with you when face to face learning will resume for your programme.  If you are “At Risk” or have concerns about returning, please discuss these with your programme coordinator.

Staying Safe Face masks are highly recommended while on campus and you should bring a mask with you. All public-facing areas (Library, Registry, Reception and Cafes) will require you to wear a mask and social distance. The exception is cafes where you can remove your mask when eating and drinking.

Contact tracing You must scan in or sign in each time you come to EIT.  When using our cafes and libraries you will need to scan in these facilities separately

Recording Attendance As part of EIT meeting the requirements of Alert level 2 (Delta) we need to record attendance in every class.  Please be patient and support your tutors while they do this.

Library and Learning Services EIT’s libraries in Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti will reopen from Thursday 9th September.

  • For Hawke’s Bay the Twist Library will be open from 8am until 5pm each day until Friday 17th September.
  • The Tairāwhiti Library will be open from 8am until 5pm each day, except for Fridays, when they are open until 4pm.
  • Both libraries will be closed this weekend.

EIT Cafes This week the Student Café and Kiosk in Taradale will be open 8am to 2pm however Green Bean will remain closed. In Tairāwhiti, The Hub will open 8am to 2pm. From Monday 13th Sept onwards – All outlets will be open normal business hours.

Ōtātara Bookshop The bookshop is open normal hours from Thursday 9 September.

Support Services Check out our website for student support services offered by EIT, including Library and Learning Support and wide range of support services available to students from external agencies.

COVID-19 Basics Please do not come to EIT if you are sick. You need to wash your hands regularly, and cough into your elbow. We strongly encourage all students to book their vaccine. Regularly check locations of interest. Call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice.
