Police can now confirm that one person has died following a crash on Maddisons Road in Rolleston this morning.
The two-vehicle crash, between a truck and a van, occurred at about 4:50am.
The van driver sadly died at the scene.
The truck driver was uninjured and no one else was involved in the crash.
The road remains closed and an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
