The northbound lane of State Highway 1 in Hamilton is blocked between Newell Road and Riverlea Road, following a crash.
Police were notified just after 6pm that a truck had rolled and was spilling diesel.
Traffic management is being put in place and motorists are asked to take alternative routes where possible.
