Emergency services are responding to a serious crash in Rakaia, Ashburton.
Police were alerted to a crash involving two vehicles on the Rakaia Highway, just south of Rakaia township around 8:30pm this evening.
One person is reported to have serious injuries and two others are reported to have received minor to moderate injuries in the crash.
The southbound lanes are blocked and detours will be put in place.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and expect delays.
The Serious Crash Unit is attending.
