The road has reopened following the crash earlier today.
State Highway 30 has reopened following the serious crash between Atiamuri and Rotorua this morning.
One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A second person was treated for minor injuries following the crash, which occurred around 7:10am near Whirinaki Valley Road.
The circumstances of the crash are now under investigation.
Motorists are thanked for their patience while emergency services worked at the scene.
