Emergency services are responding to a crash on SH 3, Mountain Road at Ngaere.
Police were notified at about 7:30am of the crash between a bus and a van.
Early indications are that one person has been seriously injured.
The road is closed between Cheal Road and Anderson Road and motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays.
