Emergency services are responding to reports of a truck and trailer unit on fire on the Waikato Expressway, near Huntly.
The incident was reported to Police around 4.30am and is between the Gordonton Road on ramp and the Tahuna Road off ramp.
There is no indication of any injuries at this time.
The northbound lanes are expected to be closed for some time and diversions are in place south of Taupiri.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area as delays are likely.
