Police were called at 8.20am today, after a person was located deceased on a remote beach on Waiheke Island.
Specialist search and rescue staff in conjunction with Waiheke Police completed the recovery this afternoon.
The matter has been referred to the Coroner and formal identification is underway.
Police have no further comment at this stage.
