Police investigating the death of Alec Moala have arrested and charged two men with his murder.

A team of detectives have been working tirelessly since Sunday to identify those responsible and hold them to account.

Two men, aged 26 and 28, have been arrested and jointly charged with murder. They are due to appear in the Manukau District Court this morning. (Friday May 28)

Police want to thank those members of the public who have contacted Police and provided valuable information to the investigation team over the past few days.

Acting Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin says he also wants to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the investigation team, who have brought about these arrests within days of Mr Moala’s death.

“We hope the arrests provide some form of comfort to Mr Moala’s family,” Acting Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin says.

Police are continuing to provide the family with support.

As the matter is now before the court, Police are not in a position to comment further.
