Name release – serious crash on Taranaki Street, Wellington

Police can now release the name of the man who died following a crash between a bus and a pedestrian on Taranaki Street in Wellington on Saturday night.

He was Andrew Lockwood Waikare, also known as Anaru “Doc” Manuel, 75, of Wellington.

Police extend their sympathies to his family and friends.

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
