Fear not, we’ll be decking the halls, ready for your calls this holiday season. The Police Media Centre will remain operational from 6am-11pm throughout the holiday period, including Christmas Day – but we will have reduced staffing during this time.
As a result of reduced staff in both the Auckland and Wellington teams, staff in the Police Media Centre will need to give priority to urgent operational issues, public safety matters and any major investigations over the holidays.
We will make every attempt to deal with all of your requests within deadlines, but when the team is busy, other more urgent priorities will mean we may not be able to facilitate all routine calls and event checks.
Please also note that as Police National Headquarters is officially closed down for the holiday period, we may not be able to facilitate every interview, as many of our National Managers and senior staff are now on annual leave.
If your query relates to the holiday road toll, simply jingle your bells over to the Ministry of Transport’s website where this data is held.
As always, we will proactively communicate significant events as normal.
