Emergency services are responding to a two-vehicle collison on SH5, Tarawera, between Tataraakina Road and Pohukura Road.
The crash, involving a van and a truck, was reported to Police at 9.52am.
Initial indications are that there are injuries.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays.
