University of Canterbury Law and Business student Grace Steinmetz is keeping her career options open. As a force to be reckoned with on a rugby seven’s field she’s eyeing the 2024 Olympics in Paris too.

  • Grace Steinmetz made her Farah Palmer Cup debut for Canterbury in their 72-15 hammering of Hawke’s Bay last month in Napier.

After moving to Christchurch to study law and commerce at UC, Grace Steinmetz was encouraged to try her hand at rugby.

She had always dreamed of going to the Olympics with hockey, but now her plan is to finish her degree later this year, before setting her sights on a career in sport. Her goal is to represent the Black Ferns sevens at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
