Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) Tools Grant has been replaced by Learner Support Funding.
Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) Tools Grant has been replaced by Learner Support Funding.
Targeted funding for MPTT is changing to make it easier for learners to get support.
As of 30 June 2020, Learner Support Funding has replaced the MPTT Transitional Tools Grant. Learner Support Funding will be allocated to each consortium.
Learners will have access to the support funding when they need it, as assessed by the consortium.
Payments will be made monthly to each consortium
Consortia will be allocated an amount of Learner Support Funding. Consortia will receive the funding via monthly instalments as part of their consortium funding, starting from January 2019.
The amount of funding that each consortium receives will be determined by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) using the number of learners the consortium is funded for. Any unspent funds will be recovered.
Monitoring and reporting processes
Consortium reporting and recording about the use of this funding will need to be separate from other funding in the consortium budget.
Consortia are required to submit a:
budget that shows us how they will use the Learner Support Funding, and
progress reports in April, August and December outlining how Māori and Pasifika Trades Training funding is allocated and spent across the following two funding categories:
consortium activities funding
Learner Support Funding.
