Police are at the scene of a serious crash on State Highway 5 near Richmond Road, Te Pohue.
Police were alerted to the two vehicle crash at around 3:15pm.
Initial indications are that there are serious injuries.
The road is closed.
Motorist are asked to avoid the area if possible or expect delays.
