Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on State Highway 5, Te Haroto.
Police were alerted to the two car crash between Kawaro Roadway and Turangakumu Road at around 9:20pm.
Initial reports state there are serious injuries.
The road is closed and could be for some time.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
