This year’s theme, Help Me Be Healthy, is a message that speaks to many aspects of positive childhood development including physical exercise, healthy kai, having fun and learning to build healthy relationships.
“We all have a general idea of what being healthy means, so at this year’s event we are walking the talk and taking up the challenge of providing interactive fun and healthy kai whilst attempting to deliver a zero-waste event,” says stall coordinator Leanne Brownie.
There are special free buses for the day to bring people to the event from Tikipunga, Kamo, Hikurangi, Otangarei, Onerahi and Morningside.
Agencies including Te Ora Hou, Oranga Tamariki, the Electoral Commission, Stand for Children, Barnardos, VOYCE- Whakarongo Mai, Mahitahi Houora, Ngati Hine Health Trust, Whangarei District Libraries, Northland District Health Board, Sport Northland and many more have banded together to provide the fun and interactive day out for kids of all ages.
The crew from Ngati Hine FM will be there to keep the crowd entertained and manage the music on the day. There will be free buses to and from the event to make sure that everyone can get there and back safely.
