The 2019/20 Annual Report summarises the Ministry’s major work programmes and achievements, and demonstrates our progress towards our strategic intentions 2017-2021, Ta Tatou Rautaki | Our Strategy and Pae Ora | Healthy Futures.

During the year, the Ministry led New Zealand’s health response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, stewarded the health and disability system through other emergencies, and continued to deliver on an ambitious core work programme.

The Annual Report summarises our financial performance for the year, presents the results results of our non-financial performance measures, and meets our reporting requirements under the Public Finance Act.

The Annual Report is complemented by the Vote Health: Report in relation to selected non-departmental appropriations for the year ended 30 June 2020, which is the Minister’s report on the financial and non-financial performance of the non-departmental appropriations that the Ministry administers on behalf of the Crown.
