Stores PACK & SEND Riccarton, Wellington City and Manukau City also received sales milestone awards which surpassed all expectations considering the challenges presented in 2020’s economic climate.

The awards were announced today via PACK & SEND New Zealand’s intranet portal via a video handover facilitated between Head Office staff and the winners, in the absence of this year’s annual conference.

Property Consultancy company gearing up to support community housing redevelopment

0

Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

TPG has partnered with central and local government to support community housing redevelopments in New Zealand.

New Zealand is currently faced with both a shortage of houses, and a construction rate that means houses are not being built quickly enough. The result of this is that Kiwis are struggling to obtain appropriate housing for themselves and their families.

TPG is working hard to increase the availability of housing for New Zealanders, providing services such as transitional housing development, feasibility studies and housing needs assessments.

Some of TPG’s latest projects include a development feasibility study and preliminary Housing Needs Assessment for Te Puea Memorial Marae’s redevelopment in Auckland.

According to TPG Senior Property Consultant – Development Management, Clinton Fisher, such projects allow local and central governments to understand housing needs now and into the future.

“The housing needs assessment for the redevelopment of the Te Puea Memorial Marae enabled us to identify the current and future housing needs within the South Auckland region, and informed the number and typologies for public housing on the Marae.”

TPG will also be engaging with community stakeholders, investigating potential partnership development opportunities, and improving emergency and transitional housing availability along with the quality of existing public housing.

Enhanced Home Cleaning at the Tips of Your Fingers

0

Source: Press Release Service

After 3 months of experiencing freedom from the grim virus, our country is back on alert. At the time of a pandemic, when virus spread can kill hundreds and thousands of people, it is our duty to keep our own surroundings clean. When we are healthy, we save ourselves and the people around us from the grim virus.

AUCKLAND, NZ — “We’re enhancing our mobile application and our home cleaning service so we can cater to anyone and everyone in need. Our goal now is to totally eradicate the traces of the virus in all homes. We all need to work together now.” shares an Urban Care representative.

Urban Care is a Kiwi-owned referral agency for babysitters, social workers, and cleaners. They have seen fluctuations in bookings from babysitters during the previous month to being COVID-free for cleaners, now that the country is back on alert. As the company observed the changes in their bookings, they are certain that locals are starting to look after their homes with triple the precautions.

COVID-19, it’s second, dreadful attack

“It can come back over and over again if we are not careful. I think we really need to educate everyone that cleanliness starts at home” are words expressed by the representative as he recalls the short period wherein the country was totally free from the virus.

The company is doing its best to reach more homes in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, where they currently operate. They are constantly training their local cleaners regarding safety measures and procedures under the strictly implemented precautions by the government. As they train their cleaners, they are also out on a mission to spread the word about the homes they service. A representative for Urban Care shares that its cleaners are specially trained to share cleaning tips with homeowners.

The director neither shared how they trained their cleaners nor where it was done.

When asked about the mobile application and why there is a need for it despite having a user-friendly website with a booking page, the director just said, “We want to be everywhere. Some users prefer mobile apps, some prefer using our website. We’ll cater to everyone. We’re also open for bookings through calls, you know. For traditional people who would prefer to talk to an agent rather than a chatbot.”

Visiting homes amidst second attack of the virus

Urban Care recently visited a home that booked recurring services to ensure its homes were well-sanitized. The customer states, “I can’t be too sure” pertaining to her own efforts in cleaning her home. “We need expert cleaners to clean our home”.

As his final words, Sam expresses their company’s fear whenever they render service. “Of course, we’re still cautious. I won’t deny that fear isn’t there. There still is.” “Our local cleaners are also afraid to catch it. So they are really careful and abide by the safety regulations as per the government.”

According to the company, their services can be booked in less than 60 seconds using their mobile application. You can download Urban Care’s mobile application to book a cleaning service here on Google Play Store and here on App Store.

Urban Care Slowly Adapts to Greener Business Solution

0

Source: Press Release Service – Auckland

AUCKLAND, NZ — “The need for sustainable and greener solutions for our business is vital to improve the environmental state of our planet. Implementation of these new practices must be done right away.”, says Sam Bhandari, CEO of Urban Care.

Our planet’s environment has been declining, the rising number of carbon dioxide levels, global temperature, and sea level, have reached worrying numbers. As of June 2020, the planet’s carbon dioxide level has reached 441 parts per million, at the same month, in 2007, numbers were at 383 parts per million. That is an 8% increase in carbon dioxide levels in just 13 years. Compared to 2007’s 0.66 degree celsius of average temperature anomaly, 2020’s average temperature anomaly is at 0.99 degrees. These facts alone are telltale signs of worry. We can foresee the rate of degradation to increase in the following years, if not everyone plays their part in uplifting the condition of our ecosystem.

“There is no denying what the numbers [about climate change and global warming] tell us. We must do our part in protecting the environment in and out of the workplace. We want our sustainable practices to resonate with those whom we work with and serve. We hope that this will influence them in achieving a better future for our community and planet.” says Sam Bhandari.

Urban Clean’s solution is to begin by revising their vision for everyone in the company to embrace green and sustainable thinking. Then they will optimize their waste management, utilize eco-friendly alternative materials instead of plastics, and make use of organic cleaning agents. they are glad to announce that our suppliers will provide them with environmentally-friendly solutions as well. The company will utilize systematic logistics routes to find the best ways to get to multiple clients in a day, for their efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Sam Bhandari once again expresses, “Starting today, we are shifting into greener practices to play our part for Earth’s well-being.”

The company added, “We encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to have sustainability in their mind when they think about building their business model. It is not only enough to fulfil just the financial and social aspects of their values. More than ever, everyone should consider placing efforts in environmental impact.”

The company motivates everyone to shift to eco-friendly practices and make it a habit. “It is never too late to start; the earlier we begin, the better it would be for all of us.” Their CEO stated that the following generations must live in a world that will not be stricken with worse environmental issues. The planet is in a worse enough condition, day by day, the numbers grow increasingly critical, new business innovations and strategies will play a huge role in helping the environment.

Urban Care’s Director ends the interview with a few words of encouragement for small business, “We thought we started late, but now is the best time to do it. We’re glad we have the right network to work with us. We couldn’t have done it without them.”

Dining during a pandemic – will we see more alfresco options in New Zealand?

0

Source: WalkWorthWeb

With another winter behind us, Kiwis will be itching to get back outside. Whether it is a barbeque on the deck or a night out at the Auckland viaduct, outdoor dining is a big part of our social lives.

Winter is traditionally a tough time for the hospitality sector, and with this year’s lockdowns and restrictions, the winter of 2020 may be one to forget. As the weather begins to warm up, bars and restaurants will be looking to attract patrons and pack out their premises.

The disruption to business has forced many business owners to look for creative ways to attract punters post-lockdown. One of these tactics has been making outdoor more attractive and comfortable.

“We have seen a significant increase in orders from bar and restaurant owners across the country”, observed Kelvin Davis, owner of the local N.Z. outdoor heating manufacturer, Kelray Heating. “Outdoor heating is a great way to expand the useable space of a venue”.

Davis has been supplying commercial outdoor heating products to N.Z. businesses for decades and believes many business owners are looking to ensure their venues can thrive during the pandemic era.

“We have seen many bars and restaurants overseas; in places like L.A. and the U.K., be restricted to outdoor dining only. With the virus being much less transmissible outdoors, and patrons feeling safer outside, a lot of N.Z. venue owners have been investing in their outdoor spaces”, says Davis.

The U.S. has already seen a massive surge in demand for outdoor heaters, with major retailers Amazon and Wayfair seeing a 70% increase in patio heater sales. While Davis has not seen any panic buying of Kelray’s products, sales of their heaters are notably higher, particularly among business owners. Davis believes outdoor dining may prove to be the solution for keeping the hospitality sector afloat, particularly with the uncertainty of new virus clusters.

“New Zealand bars and restaurants have had a little more time to prepare and observe what has worked overseas”, says Davis. “Social distanced outdoor dining appears to be the best solution, moving forward. It allows businesses to remain open while minimising the risk of transmission, even as clusters come and go”.

Pacific Creatives ReConnect with Latin America

Source: Press Release Service – Auckland

In a new era of social distancing and limited travel, the Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (LatAm CAPE) has developed a new opportunity with Oyster Workshop for creative entrepreneurs to connect with Latin America.

The Pacific Business ReConnect: Latin America Programme focuses on highlighting the ancient connections Pacific people have with Latin America and reigniting those connections through an exploration of cultural, creative and commercial opportunities in Chile, Colombia and Mexico.

The Programme is delivered in an online environment through Deep Dive and Wayfinding sessions. The Deep Dives will include local and in-market experts sharing knowledge and experience specific to the opportunities the featured countries present for Pacific creatives. The companion Wayfinding sessions are designed to give participants the ability to develop innovative solutions for the market in Latin America, in a group environment.

As a country that is home to the largest and most diverse Polynesian population on the planet, New Zealand has access to a wealth of creative and cultural capital that has the potential to ensure our creative sector is the most vibrant and economically viable in the world. Creative industries mark a significant strength for Pacific people in New Zealand. This has relevance in a Latin American context in terms of opportunities for Pacific businesses to develop high value products to cater to these markets.

The mission of the Latin America CAPE is to bring New Zealand closer to Latin America. Director Dr Matthew O’Meagher says, “The Pacific Business ReConnect: Latin America Programme is an important new initiative for us in collaboration with Oyster Workshop. Pacific-led businesses and creatives are an important part of New Zealand’s business-scape. We’re looking forward to supporting participating businesses to build stronger, sustainable and authentic relationships in the 3 focus countries for this Programme.”

Oyster Workshop is a Pacific-owned systems change agency that has developed a number of business development programmes for creative entrepreneurs and are excited to start this journey with the LatAm CAPE. Director Kim Tuaine says, “After successfully delivering a Creative Cluster programme for Polynesian Creatives for the North Asia CAPE, we are excited to launch this new initiative with the LatAm CAPE. They have incredible insight, experience and connections in the region. The quality of their in-market expertise will be of enormous benefit to Pacific entrepreneurs that connect into these sessions.“

“We are also thrilled to have a Pacific evaluation and research team from the University of Auckland supporting this work. We’re looking to continually develop global opportunities for our communities and establish a robust evidence base for this work.” Tuaine goes on to say: “In a post-pandemic world, the creative economy marks a significant opportunity for Pacific creatives to develop successful commercial offerings unique to a global market hungry for new and innovative ways to connect with diverse cultures and voices.”

The 2020 Pacific Business ReConnect Programme: Latin America is seen as a stepping stone for further initiatives to continue reigniting the connection between Pacific cultures and Latin America and market opportunities.
