Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

(PR.co.nz)  Transformative is a Kiwi-owned digital transformation and technology leader, delivering “Business Changing Ideas + Technology” for organisations large and small throughout New Zealand and overseas. For the past nine years, the company’s business practice has been for all of its 20 employees working from home on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week.

“Nine years ago, we originally initiated Wednesday/Thursday work-from-home as a way for the company’s then three member staff to balance the demands of growing a start-up. Over the years, it has become a hallmark of our culture, a way to ‘live our values’ of sustainability, and a significant contribution to our ability to recruit and retain talented staff,” says Tim Clark, a Transformative co-founder.

With a desire to give back to the New Zealand business community, the company is now offering lessons from its own experience, free of charge, in the form of a one-hour videochat with some of our leadership team.

Katie Te Nahu Owen, co-founder of Transformative says, “As a long-time employer of many talented work-from-home team members, we’ve learned a few things along the way – we’ve crystallised our experience into a one-hour workshop, designed to enable business leaders with specific actions to facilitate the low-proximity and work-from-home work models which have become increasingly necessary.”

Business leaders are encouraged to sign up for the no-cost workshop at https://transformative.nz/remote-working

5 Tips When Hiring a Rural Fence Contractor

0

Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

(PR.co.nz)

Here are five factors you should consider when hiring a rural fencing contractor:

1. References/Word of Mouth

An excellent way to narrow down your list of potential fencing contractors is to seek out references or even better—word of mouth recommendations from neighbours or your local timber yard. Social media sites like Facebook can also be a good source of customer feedback.

2. Availability

A good fencing contractor is never short of work, so be a little wary of anyone who says they’re available immediately. Often smaller jobs can be carried out within short time frames, but larger projects generally require some forward planning. For this reason, it pays to start talking to potential contractors a month or two in advance.

3. Materials/Equipment/Workmanship

A quote that comes in much lower than the others can often indicate the contractor is using inferior materials. This is a false economy when it comes to fencing as the labour costs to rectify a failed fence will outweigh any initial savings on materials. Look for contractors who provide quality materials, the right machinery and a high level of craftsmanship.

4. Past work

References are handy, but nothing beats a close-up inspection of the contractor’s past work. If possible, see if you can inspect a recently completed fencing job that is similar in style and construction to your project.

5. Price
Gathering several quotes is always a good idea to get a gauge on costs for labour and materials. While the price is important, it shouldn’t be the only deciding factor. Local experience is essential, as terrain can vary significantly across different regions. A well-established contractor may charge a bit more, but you’ll get more peace of mind, knowing the business will be around for years to come.

No Shortage of Wood Pellet Fuel

0

Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

(PR.co.nz)

Azwood Energy, the manufacturers of wood pellet fuel brands Firetime, Onfire Premium & Eco Pellets are advising customers there is no shortage of supply. Homes that have installed pellet fires are often the only source of heating within the home.

Pellet fires must run on a pellet made from 100% condensed wood, and there are no alternatives in terms of energy sources such as burning wood.

Azwood Energy Sales Manager Caleb Hughes said “This is not a case of short supply, but a case of the stores keeping up…Big box retailers in Dunedin, Christchurch and throughout the North Island had run out of floor stock for small time periods. Consumers should purchase how they normally would, including large start-of season orders to reduce store visits and contact.”

Azwood Energy is actively working with stores to ensure they are understanding the consumer purchasing patterns in uncertain times like these. “We’re seeing a delayed reaction similar to the nationwide toilet paper issue. As the colder temperatures hit, we as a company have a social responsibility to ensure New Zealand stays warm this winter. It’s paramount we ensure customers have access to wood pellets, especially with colder weather forecasted.” Hughes said.

Azwood Energy suggests if you’re having issues with supply, please contact your nearest retailer.

Need to know:
• Purchase what you need for up to two weeks.
• Stores may have stock located elsewhere onsite – please ask the stores customerservice representative.
• If you’re in self-isolation, consider delivery methods offered by supermarkets, or a bulkorder through your nearest retailer.
• If you would like a large amount, please order through your preferred retailer, ratherthan take all the stock on the floor.

NZ Company Finalist in Prestigious Australasian Packaging Awards

Source: Press Release Service – Auckland

Finalists were announced this week for the PIDA Australasian Packaging Awards and Kahuku Natural producing plant based natural soaps and cleaners in a world first stainless steel packaging with Swap a Bottle system for refills was one of two finalists in the Health, Beauty & Wellbeing Section.

A small family owned company manufacturing it’s product in Auckland has created unique industry first packaging in stainless steel point of use bottles, and refill from home bottles. The company operates a Swap a Bottle system whereby all bottles return to Kahuku Natural for sterilising and reuse. They aim to divert more than 20,000 point of use bottles from landfill in the first year of operating this system.

In addition Kahuku Natural stocks refilleries around the country with bulk refill stations also using stainless steel kegs which are then returned by the stockist for sterilising and reuse.

Kahuku Natural has been operating this bulk system for just over one year now and the consumer based system since October last year.

The awards are judged on sustainable packaging design considerations and how they meet 2025 National Packaging Targets. A win would see Kahuku Natural automatically entered in the WorldStar Packaging Awards.

Marlborough Business adapts: hypnotherapy on line

Marlborough Business adapts to Covid-19: hypnotherapy on line.

As New Zealand goes into lock-down and people’s daily stress levels rise to new heights, a Marlborough hypnotherapist is doing her bit to help them cope.

For several years Chris Steadman has been operating a successful hypnotherapy business, Ntrance, from her home clinic in the Omaka Valley.
“For many of us, who have never experienced life-changing events that have an enormous impact on everyday lives, these are unprecedented times,” Chris said. “Some people may already suffer with low-level anxiety and find their symptoms have ramped up recently; others might be feeling new physical and psychological strains for the first time.”

Until now, almost all Chris’s therapy has been with Marlborough residents having a 60-80 minute session face-to-face. Given the current Covid-19 lock-down, this is no longer practicable.

With a few hardware adjustments, Chris is now conducting her hypnotherapy sessions on-line using Zoom. This is not an original technological breakthrough. Ever since the advent of Skype, a group of experienced professional hypnotherapists in the UK have been successfully treating their clients on-line.

So far, using Zoom, Chris has been delighted with the results and the ease with which her clients have been able to adjust to staying at home for their treatment sessions. Whereas most of Ntrance’s business came from Nelson/ Marlborough, she is now able to extend her service nationwide.

“This pandemic has many repercussions beyond the actual virus. One is the potential impact on mental health and wellbeing as people try to manage an increasingly stressful situation, and if I can help ease that stress in just a small way, I believe it’s worthwhile trying.”

Though much of her business to date has been for weight loss and quitting smoking, Chris is expecting a surge in clients suffering from stress and anxiety. Happily, anxiety is very amenable to treatment through hypnotherapy, which, by its nature is a deeply relaxing experience.

“To some degree it’s natural to worry, and we all do it – it’s how our brain handles problems or potential problems,” Chris explained. “But it stops being useful if we become stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts about things that are out of our control. We should instead focus on those things within our control, and how we choose to respond to them.”

One such way people have been trying to exercise control and diminish their worries is by the unhelpful practice of ‘panic-buying’ goods such as hand sanitiser and toilet roll. Chris puts this down to an overload of the ‘fight or flight’ response that’s hardwired into our DNA and is being further fuelled by images of empty shelves in the media, and on social media.

New Outdoor Wear Range Combats NZ Conditions

0

Source: Press Release Service

New Zealand is a beautiful backdrop for any outdoor enthusiast or worker, but it can also present some challenging weather conditions. Whether you’re battling winter chills at a building site, or you’re scaling a mountain on a brisk summer’s morning, you want the best outdoor wear money can buy, and 36.6 could be it.

Ecowool is a proud stockist of the 36.6 dual-layer system clothing range, a game-changer for any casual outdoor enthusiast or hard worker who wants to be ready to brave the elements.

The new clothing range, which incorporates jerseys, hoodies, sweaters, beanies, and gloves, maintains the wearer’s optimum body temperature and comfort levels in any outdoor conditions. The name, 36.6, relates to the human body’s normal temperature.

The clothing range is made up of two different dual layering systems, each designed to meet the needs of different wearers. The two-layer dual system consists of a possum merino wool lining and 100% wool external top layer. Both layers promote the ultimate in insulating warmth.

The single-layer dual system uses a double knitting technique with lambswool or possum merino to create a lightweight garment that’s comfortable and temperature-regulating.

According to Rebecca Rowan, 36.6 is the perfect pairing to an active outdoor lifestyle.

“EcoWool only stocks the best wool garments and products, and we believe 36.6 is up there with the best. Because they have been tried and tested in every condition you can think of, we’re confident they will suit a range of New Zealanders’ needs.”

Check out the new 36.6 range for yourself by visiting www.ecowool.com. You can also view EcoWool’s extensive range of sheepskin rugs, sheepskin boots and slippers, and natural health products.
