<div>21 May 2026 – Israeli Ambassadors are being summoned by host governments after media footage emerged showing Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir taunting activist in Israeli custody including three New Zealanders: Mousa Taher, Julien Blondel and Hāhona Jason Ormsby. All the activists were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla taking humanitarian aid to Gaza.</p>
<p>France, Canada, the Netherlands and Italy have all demanded a response from the Israeli government by summoning the Israeli Ambassadors based in those countries. Other countries condemned the incident including South Korea, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Poland, Qatar, Slovenia, Turkiye, Austria, Belgium, Colombia and the United Kingdom.</p>
<p>“We call on the Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, to summon the Israeli Ambassador. He needs to stand up for these New Zealanders who are being detailed illegally and tortured by the Israeli military. The video footage shows the activists held in stress positions while Ben-Gvir parades around shouting at them,” said Valerie Morse, member of Peace Action Wellington.</p>
<p>“Thus far, he has completely ignored his responsibilities as Foreign Minister. We have not heard a word of condemnation for Israel&#8217;s blatant kidnapping of ordinary people peacefully sailing in the Mediterranean Sea.”</p>
<p>“Peters is green-lighting more Israeli impunity by failing to take action for New Zealanders in extremely vulnerable positions. He must demand the immediate release of these New Zealanders without delay and without harm.”</p>

</p>
<div readability="130.14776951673">HANGZHOU, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 May 2025 – Alibaba today announced a comprehensive upgrade of its full AI stack—spanning cloud infrastructure and model services, AI chips and foundation models —to empower customers in building, deploying, and scaling AI agents with greater efficiency, reliability, and performance.</p>
<p>Unveiled at the Alibaba Cloud Summit, <strong>Qwen3.7-Max</strong> is Alibaba’s latest large language model, engineered for advanced agentic coding, complex reasoning, and long-horizon task execution. Qwen3.7-Max will be available soon for developers and enterprises worldwide.</p>
<p>To address surging compute and AI workload demands in the agentic era, Alibaba Cloud has also upgraded its infrastructure and model services. Key launches include the <strong>Panjiu AL128 Supernode Server</strong>, designed to empower scalable agent inference and large-scale model training, and an optimization update within Alibaba’s model service platform that continuously refines model performance.</p>
<p>Additionally, T-Head, Alibaba’s semiconductor design subsidiary, introduced the <strong>Zhenwu M890</strong>, its latest AI training and inference processor, featuring high-capacity memory, robust inter-chip bandwidth, and native FP4 precision support.</p>
<p><strong>Qwen 3.7-Max: A Versatile Foundation Model for the Agent Era</strong></p>
<p>Designed as a robust foundation for AI agents, Qwen 3.7-Max seamlessly handles code generation and debugging, office workflow automation, and complex multi-step tasks requiring hundreds or thousands of actions.</p>
<p>The model delivers exceptional agent capabilities across diverse domains. As a frontier-level coding assistant, it supports coding tasks from rapid frontend prototyping to complex, multi-file software engineering. To enhance office work productivity, it reliably orchestrates multi-agent workflows to tackle sophisticated operations. Notably, <strong>Qwen 3.7-Max can autonomously execute long-horizon agentic tasks—sustaining continuous operation for up to 35 hours and managing over 1,000 tool calls without performance degradation.</strong></p>
<p>Deeply optimized for leading agent frameworks including OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Qwen Paw and Qoder, it serves as a reliable backbone for different agent systems. The model achieves top-tier results across major benchmarks in coding, general-purpose agents, general capabilities and multilingualism, making it competitive with leading frontier models. It will be soon accessible through Alibaba’s model service platform Model Studio for global developers.</p>
<p><strong>Next-Generation Intelligent Computing and Enhanced Model Services</strong></p>
<p>To empower scalable AI Agent inference and large-scale model training, Alibaba Cloud has launched the <strong>Panjiu AL128 Supernode Server</strong>, powered by the Zhenwu M890 AI processor and ICN Switch 1.0 networking chip. By tightly integrating 128 AI accelerators within a single rack, the system delivers single-rack bandwidth at the petabyte-per second (PB/s) scale, dramatically improving the handling of large-scale concurrent requests from agents.</p>
<p>The Panjiu AL128 is now available on Model Studio for the China market (or “Bailian”), enabling Chinese enterprises to efficiently address training and inference demands across sectors.</p>
<p>To optimize performance, Bailian has introduced Agentic RL, a reinforcement learning mechanism powered by agent execution feedback, to drive continuous model iteration. Bailian also features built-in safety governance capabilities, ensuring that autonomously operating agents always remain within defined boundaries.</p>
<p><strong>T-Head’s Latest Chips and Software Stack for AI Training and Inferencing</strong></p>
<p>T-Head’s latest AI accelerator, the Zhenwu M890, delivers three times the performance of its predecessor Zhenwu 810E. Zhenwu M890 features <strong>144</strong> <strong>gigabytes (GB) of GPU memory and 800 GB per second of inter-chip bandwidth.</strong> The chip <strong>natively supports multiple data precision formats</strong>, <strong>ranging from FP32 (32-bit floating-point) down to FP4 (4-bit floating-point),</strong> supporting both high-precision model training and ultra-low-precision model inference. These capabilities make it exceptionally well-suited for complex agentic AI workloads, which demand extensive working memory for context retention, high-speed communication for multi-agent coordination, and low-precision computing to maintain rapid execution while reducing cost. The chip is built on T-Head’s proprietary parallel computing architecture and utilizes its custom ICN (Inter-Chip Network) interconnect protocol.</p>
<p>Alongside the accelerator, T-Head unveiled the <strong>ICN Switch 1.0</strong>, a dedicated switching chip designed to create high-bandwidth, low-latency scale-up networks for compute clusters. It delivers up to <strong>25.6 Tbps of aggregate bandwidth</strong> and achieves extreme low latencyand congestion-free communication. By pairing the Zhenwu M890 with the ICN Switch 1.0 chip, it enables full-bandwidth interconnection across 64 accelerators, significantly boosting the computational efficiency and stability of large-scale intelligent computing. T-Head also unveiled its proprietary software stack, <strong>T-Head SAIL ,</strong> to unleash the full computational potential for its chips.</p>
<p>T-Head has achieved widespread industrial adoption of its proprietary AI chips, with over <strong>560,000 Zhenwu units delivered to date</strong>. More than 400 external customers across 20 industries, including leading automakers and financial services companies, have deployed the chips to power intelligent operations.</p>

<div readability="169.55517633675">HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 May 2026 – Five students from S.K.H. St. Simon’s Lui Ming Choi Secondary School have developed a floating ecological purification system using natural and low-cost materials to improve the Tuen Mun River’s water quality and reduce odour. After 180 hours of design, research and testing, the team’s project, “River Lord,” won the Senior Secondary Division Grand Award in the second cohort of Hang Seng x HKFYG Seek Our Ways Ideation Programme, and also received the “My Favourite Team” Award.</p>

More than 240 teachers, students and parents attended to show their support.</em></p>
</figcaption></figure>
</p>
<p>Fully supported by Hang Seng Bank and organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) Leadership Institute, the second cohort of the <em>Seek Our Ways Ideation Programme</em> (the “Programme”) brought together over 400 secondary and tertiary students to tackle pressing social challenges across three themes: <strong>Environment &#038; Sustainable Development, Elderly &#038; Wellness, and Arts &#038; Culture.</strong> Over five months, participants completed nearly 14,000 hours of training, mentorship, and field exposure. Guided by more than 75 social leaders and advisors, they developed close to 90 proposals grounded in real-world insights and community needs.</p>
<p>From these, nine finalist teams advanced to the final pitching round held at the Penthouse of Hang Seng Bank Headquarters, presenting their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges, school representatives and fellow students. The award presentation was held on the same day and officiated by the Guest of Honour, Mr Clarence Leung, BBS, JP, Acting Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs. He was joined by Ms Luanne Lim, Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank, and Ms Hsu Siu-man, Executive Director of the HKFYG. More than 240 teachers, students and parents attended to show their support.</p>
<p><strong>Mr</strong> <strong>Clarence Leung, BBS, JP, Acting Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs</strong>, highlighted the growing role of technology in addressing social challenges and encouraged young people to seize emerging opportunities. “We should continuously aim at improving our country’s living standards,” he said. Mr Leung also highlighted this alignment with the first “Hong Kong Five-Year Plan” designed to complement the national 15th Five‑Year Plan, and stressed that efforts are being made “to improve community and public welfare, thereby opening up vast opportunities for youth participation.”</p>
<p><strong>Ms Luanne Lim, Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank</strong>, said, “This is the second consecutive year Hang Seng has supported the Seek Our Ways Ideation Programme. We’re pleased to see that across two cohorts, the Programme has attracted over 800 students and received more than 170 creative proposals. Starting from the community, students have turned what they learned into real action, proposing creative solutions and building prototypes to respond to community needs. Their performance is truly encouraging. We hope the Programme not only inspires young people’s passion for social innovation but also encourages them to keep exploring and putting ideas into practice, bringing more positive impact to the community.”</p>
<p><strong>Ms Hsu Siu-man, Executive Director of HKFYG</strong>, emphasised that the programme is designed not as a one-off competition, but as a catalyst for long-term engagement. “We are encouraged to see young people drawing inspiration not from textbooks, but from curiosity and empathy,” she said. “Last year’s winning team ‘Fruitful’ has already turned its idea into a social enterprise, with members continuing to deepen their expertise. This is what the programme stands for, a launchpad for those who want to make a lasting difference.”</p>
<p>In the Junior Secondary Division, Christian &#038; Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Secondary School won with “Onederful,” an eco-friendly packaging solution made from upcycled rice husks and coffee grounds. Developed by Tang Cheuk-wing, Law Mon-in, Har Lok-hin, Chan Ching-yan, Lee Hoi-kiu and Hung Tsz-hei, the team went through more than ten rounds of testing and hope that their biodegradable material will reduce landfill waste generated by e-commerce packaging.</p>
<p>The Senior Secondary Division Grand Award, which also won the “My Favourite Team” Award, went to S.K.H. St. Simon’s Lui Ming Choi Secondary School for “River Lord,” a nature-based water purification system designed to address long-standing odour issues in the Tuen Mun River. Team members Wang Ming-fang, Cai Yu-yin, Gao Yan-yee, Yam Wing-yu and Chan Hoi-ning devised their idea by using zeolite to support naturally occurring nitrifying bacteria. The system converts ammonia into odourless nitrate, which is then absorbed by eel grass, a native plant that also releases oxygen into the water. The team’s low-cost, scalable approach offers a practical pathway to improving urban water systems, with plans for field trials underway.</p>
<p>The Tertiary Division Grand Award went to a cross-university team from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, and City University of Hong Kong. Team members Lam Sze-ming, Leung Pui-ying, Yeung Tsz-ting, Chan Wai-chuen, Ho Tsz-yung and Chan Pak-yee observed that many newly arrived students were unconfident in speaking Cantonese, so they designed a Cantonese card game named “CantoMore” to enable these students to “learn through play” and build their confidence. It is hoped that this initiative will be adopted by local secondary schools in the future to help more students integrate into the community.</p>
<p>Each winning team will receive HK$20,000 and the opportunity to participate in a career immersion experience provided by Hang Seng Bank. On the event day, the audience also voted for the “My Favourite Team” Award, with the winning team receiving HK$2,000.</p>

<p>AUCKLAND, New Zealand May 20, 2026 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has maintained its position as the global leader in home entertainment, marking 20 consecutive years as the world’s No.1 TV brand, and 12 consecutive years as the world’s leading soundbar brand. These milestones coincide with the launch of Samsung’s new generation of AI-powered TV and audio innovations for Kiwi consumers.</p>
<p>The achievement comes as Samsung introduces its 2026 line-up of revolutionary Micro RGB, Neo QLED, OLED, lifestyle TVs and premium audio products. The new range focuses on delivering more intelligent, immersive and personalised entertainment experiences for New Zealand homes, powered by the latest advancements in AI-driven picture, sound and connected home technology.</p>
<p>Samsung recorded a 29.1% share of the global TV market in 2025 through market research completed by Omdia, maintaining its position as the world’s leading TV brand since 2006. In the premium TV category, Samsung held a 54.3% market share, driven by demand for Neo QLED, OLED and Frame TVs.</p>
<p>In addition to reinforcing Samsung TV credentials, research from Future Source captured 21.5% of global soundbar revenue and 19.7% of unit volume in 2025 for Samsung’s audio offerings, which maintains the brand’s global soundbar leadership since 2014.</p>

<p>Samsung’s premium audio portfolio will also expand in 2026 with the introduction of new soundbars and wireless speakers, including the new Music Studio range.</p>
<p>Samsung has a long-standing focus on combining cutting-edge display technology with intelligent connectivity through the SmartThings ecosystem, helping to create seamless entertainment and smart home experiences.</p>

<div>–<span class="gmail-Apple-converted-space"> </span><b>PSA snap rally against public service cuts Sunday midday Te Papa</b></div>
<div>A fresh PSA analysis of the Government’s public service cuts reveals the true scale of devastation: nearly one in four workers at the agencies in scope will lose their jobs.</div>
<div>With 10 agencies exempted from the cuts, the entire burden of the planned cull of 8,700 jobs falls on the remaining 30 agencies, which employ 36,965 people. That means 23.4% of workers at those agencies will be sacked – nearly one in four workers today face an uncertain future (see attached document).</div>
<div>“The Government’s headline number hid the real story of how deep and destructive these cuts will be,” said Duane Leo, National Secretary of the Public Service Association Te Pukenga Here Tikanga Mahi.</div>
<div>“We&#8217;ve had an outpouring of support from people outraged at the Government&#8217;s decisions which is why we’re rallying against the cuts at Te Papa on Sunday to voice our concerns.</div>
<div>“People see it for what it is, the Government swinging a wrecking ball through the agencies that keep them safe at work, protect our borders, build our roads, collect our taxes, protect our precious native forests and birds and respond to emergencies.</div>
<div>“Look at the real human cost. MSD loses more than 2,000 workers – these are the case managers and support workers who help families in crisis and get people into jobs. MBIE loses nearly 1,400 – the people enforcing building standards, processing visas and protecting tenants.</div>
<div>“MPI loses more than 800 workers – the border officers, vets, and food safety inspectors who protect us from biosecurity threats. DOC loses more than 600 – rangers, pest control workers and scientists protecting our environment. Internal Affairs loses more than 600 – the people processing your passport, running the National Library and enforcing anti-money laundering laws and keeping kids safe from online harm.</div>
<div>“The National Emergency Management Agency loses nearly a quarter of its staff. This year alone, more than 20 states of emergency have been declared across New Zealand. Climate change is hammering our communities right now, and the Government wants to gut our capacity to respond?</div>
<div>“The Cancer Control Agency, the Ministry for Disabled People, the Ministry for Women, the Ministry for Pacific Peoples, the Ministry for Ethnic Communities – all face losing nearly a quarter of their people. These agencies exist because communities fought for a voice in government. Now that voice is being silenced.</div>
<div>“New Zealanders should not trust this Government’s promise that the exempted agencies are safe. When they find they can’t kick 8,700 bodies out the door without services falling over, what happens next? They widen the net. Oranga Tamariki could be next. Corrections could be next.</div>
<div>“You can’t cut one in four workers from an agency and call it efficiency. Using AI and merging departments to stop HR roles being duplicated does not get you anywhere near the headline target.</div>
<div>“Our analysis exposes how poorly thought through this plan really is. This is destruction of public services on an unprecedented scale, and every New Zealander will pay the price,” said Duane Leo.</div>

<li>Expanded partnership with AI Singapore will drive joint prototypes, multilingual models, reusable delivery frameworks and enterprise deployments.</li>
</ul>
<p>SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 May 2026 – Temus today launched an AI Foundry, supported by Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), to expand Singapore’s AI talent base and strengthen production-grade AI delivery for enterprises.</p>
<p><figure data-width="100%" data-caption="(from Left to Right) Sng Ren Yeong, Chief Executive Officer, Temus; Kiren Kumar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Development, Infocomm Media Development Authority; Philbert Gomez, Senior Vice President, Executive Director and Head, Digital Industry Singapore" data-caption-display="block" data-image-width="0" data-image-height="0" class="c6" readability="6"><figcaption class="c5" readability="12">

</figcaption></figure>
</p>
<p>The Foundry will hire, develop and deploy 50 Singapore-based AI professionals to build AI accelerators, governance frameworks, and delivery capabilities for enterprise AI.</p>
<p>Singapore’s Economic Strategy Review (ESR), whose final report was published 13 May 2026, made clear that Singapore should be a place where AI generates measurable business and societal outcomes. With more than 70 AI Centres of Excellence already established across sectors, Temus’ AI Foundry will build on these foundations to operationalise AI at production grade in response to that mandate – with the talent and delivery methods that translate AI ambition into live, enterprise projects.</p>
<p><figure data-width="100%" data-caption="Front: Sng Ren Yeong, Chief Executive Officer, Temus; Mark Pereira, Head, Partnerships, Strategy &#038; Growth (AI Products), AI Singapore <br />Back: Sutowo Wong, Managing Director, AI &#038; Data, Temus; Kiren Kumar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Development, Infocomm Media Development Authority; Tomithy Too, AI Strategist, AI &#038; Data, Temus” data-caption-display=”block” data-image-width=”0″ data-image-height=”0″ class=”c6″ readability=”10″><figcaption class=" c5 readability="20">

</figure>
<p>Initial use-cases for the AI Foundry include –
</p>
<ul>
<li>An agentic AI copilot for a leading investment company</li>
<li>A secure, internally hosted AI knowledge assistant for a specialised financial institution</li>
<li>An AI-powered lead management system for a regional telecommunications provider</li>
<li>A multi-agent vulnerability management solution for a leading security and integrated services company</li>
</ul>
<p>Notably, they illustrate how the AI Foundry will support enterprises across precision health and financial services, in line with Singapore’s National AI Impact Programme (NAIIP).</p>
<p>“Singapore’s AI opportunity is entering a new phase: From experimentation to execution,” said <strong>Sng Ren Yeong, Chief Executive Officer, Temus.</strong> “Across industries, firms are exploring how AI can improve the way they work. With stronger data, governance and operating foundations, they can move forward with greater confidence and scale. Our AI Foundry is designed to support this next phase of AI-enabled transformation by building Singapore-based talent, codifying proven delivery methods, and enabling enterprises to turn AI ambition into lasting business impact.”</p>
<p><strong>Philbert Gomez, Senior Vice President, Executive Director and Head, Digital Industry Singapore</strong>, said: “We welcome the establishment of Temus’s AI Foundry. Through their work with enterprises across sectors, the Foundry will enable key companies who have chosen Singapore to undertake core transformation that will be enabled by AI. This investment will also present Singaporeans an opportunity to gain experience through participating in transformation projects from sectors such as financial services and precision health. Singapore has strong propositions as a global AI hub for AI technology and service providers, and we look forward to more companies undertaking such efforts from here.”</p>
<p><strong>Talent as national AI asset</strong></p>
<p>The ESR’s recommendations also identified AI literacy and workforce transformation as a cross-cutting imperative, that AI adoption across the economy be tied to job redesign and skills upgrading, and that the gains from AI be shared fairly. The Foundry puts this principle into practice. Its 50 new roles — spanning AI architects, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, product owners, and full-stack, DevOps and UX engineers — will be embedded directly in live client work, building production-grade delivery capability while growing Temus’ local talent base.</p>
<p>This builds on Temus’ broader workforce transformation track record: Step IT Up, supported under IMDA’s TechSkills Accelerator (TeSA)<sup><sup>[1]</sup></sup> initiative, has hired, placed and trained close to 80 Singaporean career-switchers into technology roles at a 100 per cent placement rate.</p>
<p><strong>Deepening the AISG partnership</strong></p>
<p>Temus and AI Singapore (AISG) have committed to deepening a partnership that began in April 2023, when the two organisations signed their inaugural MOU to accelerate AI innovation and adoption. The first agreement focused on catalysing digital transformation, promoting AI adoption, and developing new AI technologies for Singapore-based firms, including through AISG’s flagship 100 Experiments (100E) programme.</p>
<p>Today’s expanded partnership extends the collaboration into exploring joint prototypes, reusable delivery frameworks and enterprise deployments that bring nationally developed AI capabilities into real-world operating environments. The partnership will also support multilingual AI use cases and the practical application of Singapore-developed models in enterprise settings.</p>
<p><strong>Dr Leslie Teo, Senior Director, AI Products, AI Singapore</strong>, said: “Singapore’s AI ambition depends on tighter links between research, engineering and deployment. Our partnership with Temus is intended to help bridge that gap – by translating locally anchored model and product capabilities into enterprise use cases that can be governed, evaluated and deployed in practice.”</p>
<p><strong>Sutowo Wong, Managing Director, AI and Data, Temus</strong>, said: “We are pleased to deepen our partnership with AI Singapore and explore how nationally developed AI capabilities can be deployed into live enterprise environments. A capable model is just the start. In regulated settings, you also need sovereignty over your proprietary data, domain-specific context, and the infrastructure to move from prototype to production. That is the gap we want to close together.”</p>
<div readability="11.5">
<hr class="c8">
<div readability="18">[1] The TeSA initiative was launched in 2016 and has placed more than 24,300 locals into tech domains such as Software and Applications, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, AI and Analytics, 5G and upskilled more than 440,000 individuals with tech skills. TeSA is co-led by IMDA, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Workforce Singapore (WSG) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).</div>

<div readability="105.2272858379">HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 May 2026 – Aberdeen Technical School (ATS) officially announced that its students’ innovative cold chain intelligent monitoring system, <strong>“Eye of the Fresh Environment,”</strong> was officially granted a Hong Kong patent as published in the <em>Hong Kong Intellectual Property Journal</em> in April 2026. The project previously secured the Overall Grand Championship at the “Innovate and Lead – The New Wave Logistics Competition”, prevailing over 40 teams from Hong Kong and Macau.</p>

<p><strong>Innovative Organic Semiconductor Technology: 48-Hour Spoilage Early Warning</strong></p>
<p>Addressing the global crisis where 1.3 billion tons of fresh food are wasted annually due to cold chain failures, the ATS student team developed the “Eye of the Fresh Environment” system. Utilizing advanced <strong>organic semiconductor technology</strong>, the team created micro-sensors that feature low cost and zero heat generation to monitor temperature, humidity, and gas concentrations in real-time.</p>
<p>Combined with AI cloud analysis, the system can provide an <strong>early warning of food spoilage up to 48 hours in advance</strong>, automatically notifying distributors. Data indicates the system effectively helps enterprises reduce fresh produce spoilage rates from 20% to below 5%. This results in a reduction of 15 tons of waste per 100 tons of produce and a revenue increase exceeding HKD 450,000, providing robust support for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals in the logistics industry.</p>
<p><strong>Originating from Real-Life Observation; Addressing Market Gaps</strong></p>
<p>The development team included students Wong Tim Shing (F.2), Chan Lai Him, Lau Ho Yin, and Pang Wai Chiu (F.4). The inspiration for the project came from observing large amounts of spoiled fruits and vegetables during transportation. They identified that existing market systems are often designed for large-scale industrial use, making them expensive, bulky, and lacking flexibility.</p>
<p>Team member Lau Ho Yin noted that “Eye of the Fresh Environment” features a <strong>low-cost modular design</strong> and a <strong>real-time local warning mechanism</strong>. It is specifically optimized for small-to-medium-sized transport scenarios and startup teams, filling a significant market gap. Pang Wai Chiu added that using organic semiconductors makes the monitors both affordable and energy-efficient.</p>
<p><strong>Boarding Life Cultivating Excellence: “Learning to Study, Learning to Be”</strong></p>
<p>The success of this patented invention reflects the unique outcomes of Aberdeen Technical School’s boarding education. The school noted that students took the initiative to form teams during the 2025 summer break, integrating school-based innovation and logistics projects into real-life research and development. This demonstrates a spirit of self-directed learning, innovative courage, and the pursuit of excellence.</p>
<p>In their reflections, students highlighted how boarding life aided the development process. By living together, they learned <strong>teamwork, responsibility, and time management</strong>. Lau Ho Yin shared that living away from home required self-discipline in scheduling and cutting down on unproductive phone usage, allowing more focus on critical thinking and social observation.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Source: Media Outreach</p>
<p>SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 May 2026 – Fushi Tech, a subsidiary of Yeahka (9923.HK), has announced a strategic upgrade with the launch of Fynix AI shop, a Full-stack AI Agent product purpose-built for overseas merchants.</p>
<p>Unlike conventional marketing tools or customer service systems, Fynix AI shop is designed to function as a genuine “digital employee” — one that actively participates in day-to-day business operations. It understands merchant needs, breaks down tasks, and executes them autonomously, supporting merchants across the full commercial cycle of customer acquisition, conversion, payment, and repeat purchases.</p>
<p>This is not simply a product update. It marks a fundamental shift in how merchants approach digital operations — and signals Fushi Tech’s evolution from a traditional SaaS provider to an AI Agent platform.</p>
<p><strong>AI Agents: The Next Generation of Business Infrastructure</strong></p>
<p>Enterprise digitalisation has, for much of the past decade, remained largely at the tooling stage: merchants adopt SaaS tools and then operate manually. However, as large language models continue to mature, AI is shifting from an assistive tool to an autonomous executor.</p>
<p>The defining value of an AI Agent lies not in answering questions, but in its ability to understand purposes, call on the right tools, complete tasks end to end, and close the loop without human intervention. Across the global technology industry, AI Agents are increasingly seen as the next major shift in enterprise software.</p>
<p>According to IDC, investments in AI solutions and services are projected to yield a global cumulative impact of USD 22.3 trillion by 2030, representing approximately 3.7% of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP).</p>
<p>The trend is already taking shape in international markets. Salesforce has launched Agentforce, while emerging players such as Sierra AI are attracting significant capital, with the industry broadly applying valuation multiples of 30 to 60 times ARR to leading companies. These figures reflect the market’s long-term expectation in the commercial value of AI-powered employees.</p>
<p>For Fushi Tech, the launch of Fynix AI shop is also a response to a structural gap it has observed over years of serving merchants across Southeast Asia.</p>
<p>Many small and mid-sized merchants in the region still operate through fragmented digital systems — with point-of-sale, CRM, marketing, delivery, and customer service tools running in silos, data unable to flow between them, and key operational tasks still heavily dependent on manual effort. Merchants may have adopted software, but genuine gains in operational efficiency have remained elusive. AI Agents now make a unified operational hub possible for the first time.</p>
<p>Fushi Tech’s goal is not to optimize isolated steps in the process, but to have AI directly execute business operations on the merchant’s behalf. With AI Shop, merchants don’t learn to operate software — they manage an employee. This shift reflects a broader transformation underway in enterprise services — from selling tools to delivering outcomes.</p>
<p>A growing consensus is also emerging across the AI industry: as the underlying capabilities of large models converge, the real differentiator is increasingly a company’s ability to connect AI with real-world business.</p>
<p>Fushi Tech has positioned itself accordingly. Where many Western AI companies focus primarily on model capabilities and generative AI, Fushi Tech emphasizes deep integration across payments, CRM, and AI — keeping its offering close to the transaction itself.</p>
<p>Fynix AI shop is beyond a chatbot, it connects to a complete operational ecosystem: drawing on CRM data to understand customers, processing transactions through the payments infrastructure, and integrating with external platforms including WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, and delivery services.</p>
<p>This means AI is no longer simply capable of conversation — it is genuinely capable of doing business. And that is precisely the hardest part of bringing AI Agents to market at scale. The challenges extend well beyond algorithms, requiring engineering depth, merchant networks, payments infrastructure, and years of accumulated industry knowledge. In this sense, the companies best placed to build durable competitive advantages in AI may not be pure-play model providers, but those capable of embedding AI directly into real industry workflows.</p>
<p><strong>From “SaaS Tool” to “AI Employee”</strong></p>
<p>At the product level, Fynix AI shop exhibits the hallmarks of a digital employee, executing tasks autonomously across the merchant’s full operational cycle. Its core capabilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Content generation</strong>: Automatically creates menu pages, product listings, and marketing materials</li>
<li><strong>Intelligent conversation</strong>: Guides customers through product recommendations, conversion, and order placement in a natural, sales-driven interaction</li>
<li><strong>In-conversation payments</strong>: Completes transactions directly within the chat interface</li>
<li><strong>Customer management</strong>: Builds and continuously refines consumer profiles using CRM data</li>
<li><strong>Ecosystem integration</strong>: Connects with external tools including WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, and delivery services</li>
</ul>
<p>Across the merchant journey, Fynix AI shop extends into use cases spanning store setup, customer acquisition, membership management, appointment booking, review management, and delivery platform integration.</p>
<p>In a customer re-engagement scenario, for instance, Fynix AI shop can automatically analyse purchase cycles, preferences, and dormancy patterns across the customer base, and provide campaign recommendations to the merchant. Once approved, the Agent generates the relevant vouchers and delivers personalized content to customers via the merchant app, Telegram, or other channels — tracking performance throughout.</p>
<p>In practice, merchants no longer need to manually review data, write copy, or repeatedly devise marketing strategies from scratch. Nor do they need to configure complex rules or adjust system parameters in the CRM backend. A single natural language instruction sets the entire workflow in motion — freeing merchants to focus on higher-level business decisions.</p>
<p>This reflects a deeper transformation that AI is bringing to the commercial world. Digitalization gave businesses better information. AI Agents are now giving them the ability to take action.</p>
<p>Whoever can genuinely help merchants get things done will be best positioned to own the next platform layer.</p>
<p>In that light, Fynix AI shop is more than a new product launch. It is an early attempt to define what enterprise services could look like in the years ahead — and a signal of where the industry is heading.</p>
<p>In fast-growing emerging markets like Southeast Asia, where digitalization among small and mid-sized merchants is still in its early stages, AI Agents may have the opportunity to leapfrog the traditional SaaS development curve and move directly into an era of intelligent operations.</p>
<p>For Yeahka, this also marks a meaningful evolution in its overseas strategy — from exporting payments capabilities alone, to delivering an integrated ecosystem spanning payments, data, and AI.</p>
<p>As AI takes an increasingly active role in business operations, the value chain of the enterprise services industry is being fundamentally redefined.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Source: Media Outreach</p>
<p>SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 19 May 2026 – DigiFT, a regulated digital asset exchange for institutional-grade real-world assets, and Franklin Templeton, a global investment leader with USD 1.74 trillion in assets under management, today announced a long-term strategic partnership to make the Benji Technology Platform and its related tokenization products available to accredited and institutional investors through DigiFT’s platform. DigiFT holds Capital Markets Services and Recognised Market Operator licences from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) — a regulatory standing that makes DigiFT specifically authorised to distribute regulated securities tokens to institutional investors in Singapore.</p>
<p><figure data-width="100%" data-caption="(Left) Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO at DigiFT and (Right) Chetan Karkhanis, SVP Digital Asset Partnership Development at Franklin Templeton" data-caption-display="block" data-image-width="0" data-image-height="0" class="c6" readability="2.5"><figcaption class="c5" readability="5">
<p><em>(Left) Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO at DigiFT and (Right) Chetan Karkhanis, SVP Digital Asset Partnership Development at Franklin Templeton</em></p>
</figcaption></figure>
</p>
<p>The collaboration is grounded in a shared early commitment to institutional tokenization. Franklin Templeton launched the first U.S.-registered mutual fund to use a public blockchain to process transactions and record share ownership in 2021. DigiFT has built one of Asia’s most comprehensively regulated platforms for institutional tokenized asset distribution — holding licences in both Singapore and Hong Kong, including Type 1 and Type 4 licences from the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong. This partnership brings those two track records together: DigiFT will serve as a key distributor across Asia, with both organisations committed to expanding the scope of their work together over time.</p>
<p>The partnership arrives at a decisive moment. In 2025, tokenized real-world assets distributed on public blockchains grew from approximately USD 5.5 billion to USD 18.6 billion, with tokenized U.S. government securities emerging as the leading institutional category. This growth underscores a structural inefficiency in digital markets, where institutional capital is frequently held in non‑yielding stablecoins or on‑exchange balances, while traditional fund infrastructure remains constrained by defined settlement cycles. The Benji Technology Platform and its related tokenization products are designed to address this gap by supporting the tokenization of U.S. government securities strategies that accrue yield continuously, including intraday accrual, through Franklin Templeton’s patent‑pending Intraday Yield mechanism. It also supports 24/7 transferability between permissioned wallets and near‑instant on‑chain settlement, enabling a range of potential institutional treasury management, payment and settlement use cases, and deployable off‑exchange collateral for institutional market participants.</p>
<p><strong>Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO of DigiFT, said</strong>: “DigiFT was built with a specific conviction: that institutional investors deserve access to the world’s best on-chain financial instruments, through a platform that meets the regulatory standard they require. The partnership with Franklin Templeton reflects that conviction and marks the beginning of a long-term strategic collaboration to bring tokenized solutions to market.”</p>
<p><strong>Chetan Karkhanis, SVP, Digital Asset Partnership Development at Franklin Templeton</strong>, said: “The partners we choose reflect our long-term commitment, not just our near-term distribution objectives towards bringing the benefits of blockchain and tokenization to the industry. DigiFT’s leadership and innovative edge, together with the institutional infrastructure they have built, provides a strong foundation for this partnership. This marks the beginning of what we expect to be an expanding and enduring collaboration.”</p>

<h2 class="mo-black" lang="en" xml:lang="en">‘EX M Imperial Tastes of Umami &#038; Kokumi’ highlights Kyoto-style flavours over 10 courses</h2>
<div readability="117.33738680466">HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 20 May 2026 – A culinary event like no other comes to Sagano, at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, starting June 8, 2026 followed by Flint in JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong later with their chefs being part of a 6 Hands collaboration. The promotion features three top gastronomic virtuosi: <strong>Chris Chan</strong>, current head chef of Sagano, <strong>Tony Wong Chi-chuen</strong>, Executive Chef of JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, and <strong>Dan Gan</strong>, creator of the innovative Exotica Umami (EX M) sauce.</p>
<p><figure data-width="100%" data-caption="ex m japanese menu" data-caption-display="none" data-image-width="0" data-image-height="0" class="c4"> </figure>
</p>
<p>The ‘Imperial Tastes of Umami &#038; Kokumi’ highlights legacy dishes and regal concepts, incorporating the innovative multifunctional sauce Exotica Umami (EX M).</p>
<p>The one-of-a-kind event draws inspiration from refined Kyoto-style cuisine. This traditional form of gastronomy has long been presented at New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel’s Sagano, one of Hong Kong’s most esteemed Japanese restaurants. For many years, Sagano has practised this culinary philosophy of emphasizing seasonal ingredients, aesthetic presentation, and harmonious balance of flavours.</p>
<p>Three top chefs now pay tribute to Kyoto cooking with a special tasting menu reinterpreting many long signature dishes at Sagano with EX M sauce’s flavour enhancing and texture altering ability. The menu explores the profound synergy between <strong>umami</strong> (a savoury, rich mouthfeel) and <strong>kokumi</strong> (an intensity and lingering trigger) – concepts attributed to be the ‘fifth’ and ‘sixth taste’ after sweet, salty, bitter and sour. These flavours can be exponentially charged in ingredients through marination or using the EX M sauce during the direct cooking process.</p>
<p>The event is conceptualized by Dan Gan, restaurateur and creator of the Exotica Umami (Ex M) Sauce. The expert sauce creator has spent years reinventing and formulating the product based on an ancient Roman recipe. The flavour elixir has been praised by numerous professional chefs and gastronomic influencers.</p>
<p>Participating chef Chris Chan, Sagano’s head chef,has built an established career in hotel Japanese restaurants, specialising in <em>Washoku</em>.</p>
<p>Tony Wong Chi-Chuen has over three decades of experience at JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, playing a pivotal role in elevating the hotel’s culinary reputation. He upholds uncompromising standards, from the quality of ingredients to the mastery of techniques, ensuring that every dish is expertly crafted.</p>
<p>Each of the 10 classic Japanese dishes will explore EX M sauce in different facets of preparation methods. The menu consists of:</p>
<ul>
<li>Akami Maguro Sushi Marinated with EX M Sauce</li>
<li>EX M Butter Crab Leg</li>
<li>EX M Yakitori</li>
<li>EX M Tonkatsu</li>
<li>Kyoto-style Pan Seared Duck Breast with EX M Sauce</li>
<li>EX M Saikyo Miso Black Cod</li>
<li>Kyoto-style Dengaku Eggplant with EX M Miso Paste</li>
<li>EX M Sautéed A5 Wagyu Beef</li>
<li>Kyoto-style Grilled Sea Bream Claypot Rice with EX M Sauce</li>
<li>Green Tea Ice Cream with EX M Yuzu Chocolate Syrup</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div dir="ltr">Source: Roblox</p>
<p>New account types deliver age‑based content access and communication defaults designed for younger players</p>
<p>SAN MATEO, California – Starting today, New Zealand is one of the first countries globally where Roblox is rolling out new age-based accounts for under 16s. </p>
<p>The launch of Roblox Kids, for ages 5–8, and Roblox Select, for ages 9–15*, marks a significant change for the platform. The age-based account system automatically assigns players aged under 16, as determined through Roblox&#8217;s global age-check technology or by a verified parent, to either a Roblox Kids or Roblox Select account. These accounts are matched to a dynamically updated catalogue containing thousands of select games.</p>
<p>The new Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts align content access, communication defaults, and parental controls with a player&#8217;s age, fundamentally shifting how younger players experience Roblox and delivering greater peace of mind for parents.</p>
<p>This is a continuation of the work Roblox began in December last year, becoming the first large online gaming platform to require facial age checks to access chat. As of January 31, 60% of Roblox&#8217;s daily active users in New Zealand, Australia and the Netherlands, where age checks first became mandatory in December last year, had completed an age check.**</p>
<p>As a part of these latest updates, Roblox will also be rolling out expanded parental controls on a platform used by millions each day, now giving parents increased oversight until their kids turn 16.</p>
<p>The changes going live from today bring age checks, account-level defaults, content ratings, ongoing moderation, and expanded parental controls together into a unified framework for younger players. At launch, age‑checked players under 16 retain access to the vast majority of their favourite games, while no changes apply to the experience for age-checked players aged 16 and over.</p>
<p>Alongside New Zealand, Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts will also begin rolling out in Australia, Indonesia, and the Netherlands from today, with the rest of the world to follow next month.</p>
<p>Australia-based father Denny Handlin, a member of Roblox&#8217;s Global Parent Council, said: “New Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts are a big win for parents. The Parent Council has been discussing where parents could have more direct controls and Roblox is delivering with the launch of new, expanded parental tools in this update. Being able to approve games and customise the experience to fit our own children&#8217;s needs lets them enjoy the magic of Roblox while we stay in the driver&#8217;s seat. It&#8217;s fantastic to see a platform taking the right steps to ensure our kids can play and learn with total confidence.”</p>
<p>Matt Kaufman, Chief Safety Officer at Roblox, said: “The rollout of Roblox Kids and Roblox Select in New Zealand is an important safety update for families, helping to ensure Kiwi children are set up with the most age‑appropriate games from the outset and giving parents greater control. It means added reassurance for New Zealand households.”</p>
<p>New Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts for children aged under 16</p>
<p>For Roblox Kids accounts for ages 5-8:</p>
<p>Access is limited to games with a Minimal or Mild content maturity label that have passed their three-step selection process (detailed below).<br />All communication is disabled by default.<br />The design includes a blue background across the app experience to indicate account type.</p>
<p>For Roblox Select accounts for ages 9–15:</p>
<p>Access is limited to games with content maturity labels up to and including Moderate that have passed their three-step selection process (detailed below).<br />Default communications settings remain unchanged for ages 9-15.</p>
<p>The design includes a distinct visual treatment to indicate account type.</p>
<p>Account Progression</p>
<p>Roblox&#8217;s global age-based account system automatically progresses players as they age.</p>
<p>Players automatically transition from Roblox Kids to Roblox Select accounts when they reach age 9.<br />Players automatically transition from Roblox Select to standard Roblox accounts when they reach age 16.</p>
<p>Players who have completed an age check on Roblox will be assigned to the account type appropriate for their age. For players in New Zealand who have not done so, there will be a transition period to give players time to complete the process. During this period, players who have self-declared their age as eight or younger will only have access to games in the Roblox Kids catalogue, while players who have self-declared their age as nine or older will have access only to games in the Roblox Select catalogue.</p>
<p>Players who have not completed an age check cannot chat on Roblox, regardless of their age.</p>
<p>Continuous Evaluation Process for Dynamic Game Selection</p>
<p>As always, all content uploaded to Roblox goes through their existing moderation systems, including AI asset scanning, ongoing user report review, and multimodal moderation that evaluates scenes in real time for potential policy violations.</p>
<p>For content made available to players under 16, they apply an additional continuous process that dynamically selects games. This process includes developer verification, extended content evaluation and rating, and additional limits on content more suited to older audiences.</p>
<p>Evaluation Criteria</p>
<p>Content is automatically included in Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts once games are evaluated using additional criteria that include:</p>
<p>Developer Verification: Creators must complete ID verification, enable two-step verification, and pay a one-time refundable publishing fee of 1000 Robux per game or maintain an active Roblox Plus or Premium subscription for two consecutive months.<br />Real-Time Evaluation: Roblox analyses how players age 16 and older interact with new games and monitor user reports to assess suitability for younger players.<br />Content Maturity Rating and Default Exclusions: Roblox assigns an appropriate content maturity label (Minimal, Mild, or Moderate) for each game. By default, Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts do not include games that feature sensitive issues, social hangouts, or free-form drawing games.</p>
<p>Future Ratings Framework Integration</p>
<p>Later this year, Roblox will start transitioning to the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) framework, the globally recognised standard method for assigning content ratings for digital games and apps, helping families better identify age-appropriate content.</p>
<p>Extending Parental Controls</p>
<p>Roblox is also extending their parental controls, which allow parents to manage content ratings, communications settings, and screen-time and spending limits. These tools also transparently show parents which games their child is spending their time in and who their friends are. Under this update, parents gain one new control and retain access to certain controls until a child turns 16.</p>
<p>Extending Granular Game Blocking: Parents can block specific individual games through age 15.<br />Extending Chat Management: Parents can manage direct chat settings through age 15.<br />New Granular Game Approval: Parents can now approve access to specific games that are not otherwise available under the child&#8217;s default account type.</p>
<p>This structure is designed to give parents more precise control over the games and friends their child interacts with. </p>
<p>Together, these updates are part of the company&#8217;s ongoing work to build age-appropriate experiences for all players, apply safety-by-default protections for younger players, and give parents more visibility and control over how their children use Roblox.</p>
<p>As part of Roblox&#8217;s work to become the world&#8217;s healthiest platform for players of all ages, they continually invest in safety by design and empower creativity through technology innovation. The products are thoughtfully designed to cultivate creation, connection, and collaborative play, rather than passive consumption. </p>
<p>*The exact ages, games, and features associated with these accounts vary by region. Ages are based on age checks; parents can correct a child&#8217;s age if necessary.</p>
<p>About Roblox </p>

<p>BEIJING, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 19 May 2026 – During Donald Trump’s high-profile diplomatic visit to China, a state-level welcome banquet was hosted in Beijing, assembling global industry leaders from the semiconductors, consumer electronics, new energy and intelligent manufacturing sectors. Beyond diplomatic protocol, the banquet’s strategic seating arrangement sparked extensive industry discussion, with a dedicated elite tech table becoming the focal point of global industrial attention. Jia Shaoqian, Chairman of Hisense Group, was invited to the exclusive tech table, seated alongside iconic U.S. tech figures including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Jensen Huang, and Tyson Jacob. The premium seating objectively validates Hisense’s worldwide technological prowess and authoritative industrial discourse power.</p>
<p>The high-end roundtable establishes a premium communication channel bridging Chinese manufacturing and U.S. hard technology. While U.S. representatives cover artificial intelligence, advanced semiconductors and new energy vehicles, Hisense represents China’s sophisticated technology manufacturing with a multi-dimensional technological layout. Shattering the long-standing stereotype of a conventional home appliance maker, the company has built inimitable technological barriers in high-end display and smart home sectors, maintaining sustained technological iteration and undisputed global technological advantages in 2026.</p>
<p>Empowered by its end-to-end industrial chain capability, Hisense occupies an apex position in the global display industry. The company’s self-developed RGB-Mini LED technology achieves comprehensive leadership in R&#038;D, mass production and technological iteration. Equipped with the pioneering Linglong 4-Core True Colour Backlight system and independently developed Hi-View AI image processing chip, Hisense’s 2026 latest UX series features 110% BT.2020 ultra-wide colour gamut, 10,000 nits peak brightness and 134-bit high-precision colour control, reproducing over 120 million distinct colours. With these innovations, Hisense now has a one-year technological head start over its competitors, enabling the enterprise to set industrial benchmarks and secure rule-making authority within the global display ecosystem.</p>
<p>Hisense remains an undisputed global pioneer in laser display technology, holding full independent intellectual property rights covering laser light sources, optical modules and terminal devices. Continuous investment in underlying optical research enables superior imaging performance with ultra-high contrast, eye-friendly visual comfort and wide colour gamut. The persistent technological edge reinforces Hisense’s dominant market share in the global laser TV industry, consolidating its status as an indispensable Chinese technological powerhouse in the high-end display landscape.</p>
<p>Beyond display technologies, Hisense expands its technological frontier in premium smart home appliances. The self-developed heat pump washing machine adopts an innovative four-in-one integrated heat pump structure, delivering low-temperature fabric-friendly washing and drying while significantly cutting energy consumption. As an original global energy-saving home appliance solution, it embodies Hisense’s green manufacturing philosophy and diversified R&#038;D strength beyond display technology.</p>
<p>During the banquet, Jia Shaoqian engaged in in-depth dialogues with international tech elites regarding technological innovation, transnational industrial collaboration and eco-friendly intelligent manufacturing. The high-level face-to-face communication enhances mutual trust and cooperation potential between Chinese and U.S. technology enterprises. Adhering to a globalised development strategy, Hisense maintains steady overseas revenue and robust independent brand influence, with its technology-oriented products widely recognised across mainstream international markets.</p>
<p>The prestigious seating arrangement serves as compelling proof of global recognition for China’s high-end manufacturing industry. As a leading Chinese tech enterprise, Hisense has obtained equal diplomatic-level dialogue status within the world’s top technological circle. Moving forward, Hisense will consistently invest in independent R&#038;D, continuously iterate RGB-Mini LED, laser display and heat pump appliance technologies, and actively explore global industrial cooperation. Committed to technological empowerment, Hisense will further strengthen the global influence and industrial voice of Chinese high-end manufacturing.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div dir="ltr">Source: Amnesty International</p>
<ul>
<li>Military-connected social media accounts target activists with disinformation</li>
<li>Online slurs precede intimidation and violent attacks against dissidents</li>
<li>Meta, TikTok, X and YouTube allow harmful content to spread rapidly.</li>
</ul>
<p>Coordinated disinformation campaigns portraying government critics as “foreign agents” are silencing dissent and fueling intimidation and violence under Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Amnesty International said in a new report published today.</p>
<p>‘Building up Imaginary Enemies’ reveals a growing pattern in which Indonesian authorities – including the military – deploy online disinformation to target journalists, activists, academics and protesters in retaliation for their legitimate activism and expression.  Meanwhile, tech giants Meta, TikTok, X and YouTube have allowed harmful disinformation to remain online.</p>
<p>“Authoritarian practices have accelerated in Indonesia under President Prabowo Subianto’s government. Amnesty’s research shows that in the 18 months since Prabowo took power, online disinformation has emerged as a key tactic to systematically discredit government critics, shut down public debate and justify repression – all while social media companies sit back and let it happen,” Amnesty International’s Secretary General Agnès Callamard said.</p>
<p>“This disinformation is a political weapon, deployed to consolidate the government’s power when public criticism intensifies, while demonizing and weakening those who dare to speak out. By branding protesters, journalists and human rights defenders as ‘foreign agents’, Indonesia’s authorities and their supporters are deliberately shifting attention away from people’s legitimate grievances.”</p>
<p>Intent to deceive </p>
<p>Since President Prabowo took office in October 2024, there have been multiple waves of demonstrations in Indonesia, including against corruption, budget cuts, environmental degradation and expanded powers handed to the military. Prabowo and senior officials have responded by repeatedly and publicly accusing critics of being paid, manipulated and controlled by foreign interests, and framing dissent as orchestrated rather than legitimate.</p>
<p>This has been followed by a proliferation of “foreign agent” slurs against civil society actors online, often based on unsubstantiated claims that they want to “undermine” or “divide” Indonesia due to the fact they receive foreign funding or other support from overseas actors.</p>
<p>Under international law, civil society organizations and media outlets have the right to access international funding, which is often essential for exercising the right to freedom of association. </p>
<p>Amnesty International’s research found that campaigns disseminating false “foreign agent” allegations against civil society have in most instances involved hundreds of accounts acting in sync to post identical videos, graphics or messages in quick succession. This false information is then amplified across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and YouTube. Amnesty was able to infer from the coordinated nature of the campaigns that these accounts were spreading falsehoods with the intention to deceive, a key element of disinformation.</p>
<p>The implications for those branded as “foreign agents” are severe, with victims telling Amnesty it undermined their work and credibility, increased their risk of criminalization and exposed them to physical harm.</p>
<p>‘Your head will fall to the ground’</p>
<p>Digital disinformation campaigns have frequently spilled over into physical violence. In March 2026, Andrie Yunus, deputy coordinator of the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS), was the victim of an acid attack in Jakarta, suffering severe chemical burns.</p>
<div>He had been targeted for months by coordinated online campaigns portraying him as a “foreign agent” after he helped lead peaceful protests against revisions to Indonesia’s Military Law. Dozens of accounts presenting themselves as part of the Indonesian military, together with hundreds of anonymous accounts, took part in these campaigns across different social media platforms.</p>
<p>State investigations later led to the arrest of four military officers. Yet even after the acid attack and arrests, disinformation continued. Coordinated videos accused Yunus of staging the assault to attract foreign funding.</p>
<p>Independent media outlets have also been heavily targeted. Tempo, one of Indonesia’s most respected news organizations, faced sustained disinformation campaigns, including by Instagram accounts presenting themselves as military units, accusing it of being controlled by foreign donors after it reported critically on government policy.</p>
<p>Online smear campaigns were accompanied by chilling acts of intimidation, including a severed pig’s head delivered to Tempo’s newsroom and follow-up packages containing decapitated rats. Online disinformation then sought to portray the threats as staged stunts to garner foreign support.</p>
<p>Greenpeace Indonesia activist Iqbal Damanik was targeted after he led a peaceful protest against the government’s mining activities in Raja Ampat, West Papua. </p>
<p>He told Amnesty: “I received so many direct messages from anonymous users. I assume they are the ones who believe the disinformation out there about me. Some threatened to kill me. One of them said, ‘Your head will fall to the ground.”</p>
<p>Climate of intimidation</p>
<p>The pervasive use of disinformation has created a climate of fear far beyond those directly targeted, discouraging people from participating in protests, collaborating with civil society organizations or expressing critical views online.</p>
<p>As one journalist told Amnesty: “This is dangerous for all of us. If we all become afraid of being labelled ‘foreign agents’ and stop reporting news or any stories critical of the government, then we are back to the authoritarian atmosphere of the past.”</p>
<p>Amnesty’s report found that Indonesia’s domestic laws fail to protect those targeted with disinformation and are more likely to be used to prosecute and criminalize critics. A new proposed law on ‘Countering Disinformation and Foreign Propaganda’ risks deepening Indonesia’s authoritarian trajectory by being used to further restrict the right to freedom of expression.</p>
<p>“Instead of upholding fundamental rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly, Indonesian authorities have failed at every level: state actors participate in the attacks, victims are denied protection and a climate of intimidation is allowed to take hold,” Agnès Callamard said.</p>
<p>“The Indonesian government must protect journalists, activists and protesters rather than enabling and disseminating toxic disinformation against them.”</p>
<p>Social media companies’ responsibilities </p>
<p>The report also finds that Meta, TikTok, X and YouTube’s inadequate content moderation, engagement-driven algorithms and failure to address Indonesia’s heightened human rights risks allowed disinformation to spread rapidly. Most of the posts documented remained online for months – some for more than a year – and many went viral.</p>
<p>“Big Tech’s failures have contributed to the human rights harms documented in this report, with falsehoods spreading faster than facts. Their platforms have played a significant role in enabling an environment in which disinformation, censorship and violence can thrive,” Agnès Callamard said.</p>
<p>Amnesty International wrote to Meta, TikTok, X and YouTube twice: first to seek information during the research phase, and later to share its findings before publication. Only TikTok responded to Amnesty International’s letters detailing our findings, pledging to “set up additional monitoring for this specific issue”.</p>
<p>“Despite the increasingly hostile climate for human rights work and failures of the government and social media companies to counter disinformation, many of the activists we interviewed remain resilient. They continue to adapt, support one another and resist. However, the burden must not rest on them alone,” Agnès Callamard said.</p>
<p>“Amid the heightened risks under President Prabowo’s administration, Meta, TikTok, X and YouTube must stop disinformation, strengthen content moderation, conduct Indonesia-specific human rights due diligence and provide remedy to those harmed due to their failures.”</p>

<div>Greenpeace illustrated the public opposition to the deal with a depiction of Luxon and Trump riding a US branded missile.</div>
<div>“We’re here today to highlight the concerns of more than 26,000 people that Luxon intends to prioritise foreign interests over the environment of Aotearoa,” says Greenpeace Aotearoa campaigner Juressa Lee.</div>
<div>Prime Minister Luxon is expected to sign a deal soon to provide the USA priority access to minerals they regard as ‘critical’. Many of the minerals listed by the USA as critical have military applications, including vanadium, which is found off the coast of Taranaki.</div>
<div>“The people of Aotearoa don’t want mining companies to destroy our precious ecosystems, locking us into the US military supply chain,” says Lee. “The response to the petition has been huge and shows us the issue has really touched a nerve.”</div>
<div>Greenpeace launched its petition in February when it was revealed the Government was in secretive talks with the USA.</div>
<div>“People are understandably very concerned that the Government is negotiating a deal that will bind us to the US industrial-military complex,” says Lee. “We don’t want Aotearoa to supply Trump’s war minerals. Most people would like Luxon to show the integrity and courage required to stand up against a deal that compromises our values.”</div>
<div>Yet the Government is pushing ahead with its pro-mining and pro-USA agenda. Last week its controversial bill opening up conservation areas to commercial interests passed its first reading in Parliament. And on Thursday, the Government hosted a high-level delegation from the USA alongside New Zealand mining industry executives and lobbyists in his Beehive office.</div>
<div>“We need to move away from extractive industries that destroy the whenua and moana,” says Lee. “Our future generations depend on us to build a sustainable, circular economy that values people and Papatūānuku.”</div>
<div>Lee adds that the rush for minerals undermines the very possibility of a just and green energy transition.</div>
<div>“Opening new mines for a green energy transition is a false solution,” says Lee. “Research shows minerals can be administered for a clean renewable energy transformation in a way that protects ecosystems from terrestrial or deep sea mining of so-called ‘critical’ minerals. Governments need to prioritise mineral use for essential energy transition purposes.”</div>
<div>“Our movement stopped seabed mining in its tracks – we can stop this deal too,” says Lee.</div>
<div>Greenpeace invited the Prime Minister to accept the petition but he declined. Labour Party spokesperson for Energy and Resources Megan Woods accepted the petition to present to Parliament. MPs from the Green Party and Te Pāti Māori were also present.</div>
<div>The petition:<span class="gmail-Apple-converted-space"> </span><a href="https://action.greenpeace.org.nz/petition/no-minerals-deal-with-trump" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Tell Luxon: No minerals deal with Trump</a></div>

<div>The Finance Minister’s irresponsible plan to sack around 9,000 public service workers within the next three years will decimate services New Zealanders rely on around the country.</div>
<div>In pre-Budget speech Nicola Willis has unveiled a radical plan to savage the public service by merging departments, using more AI and setting a target to reduce the public service headcount to about 55,000 – about one in seven roles could go.</div>
<div>“This is an act of wilful destruction of the public service, and all New Zealanders will pay a price for this reckless plan in fewer services they rely on,” said Duane Leo National Secretary for the Public Service Association Te Pukenga Here Tikanga Mahi.</div>
<div>“The Government claims savings of $2.4 billion – that’s money gone from services simple as that. Less, means less. Lower quality, slower and fewer services.</div>
<div>“Will there be fewer biosecurity officers keeping pests and diseases out of the country? Fewer people stopping online harm, child exploitation and scams? Fewer inspectors keeping workplaces safe? Fewer people answering your calls? Fewer people catching tax cheats? Which conservation projects will stop? Which communities will lose access to the services they depend on?</div>
<div>“This is not just about jobs in Wellington, 55% of public service workers support communities around New Zealand – 21% in Auckland, 10% in Canterbury. These cuts will be cruel and deep and felt across the nation.”</div>
<div>See 2026 Public Service Fact sheet attached.</div>
<div>“This is all about choices. This Government has chosen to give tax breaks to landlords and big tobacco and pay for that through cutting public services. How can this be smart economics when our population is growing, when recent storms show climate change is with us, and when our infrastructure challenges have never been bigger?</div>
<div>“Willis talks about using digitisation and AI as a justification for sacking thousands of workers. AI will not fill the gap. Just ask the experts. We need an AI strategy that maximises the benefits and prevents negative impacts for workers and the public. Linking AI to an arbitrary headcount target does exactly the opposite – it turns technology into a threat rather than a tool.</div>
<div>“Department mergers are a recipe for more chaos. Every restructure costs money, drives experienced people out the door, and grinds critical work to a halt for years.</div>
<div>“New Zealanders deserve to know before the election, not after – which services will be cut? Which communities will be worse off? If the Government is so confident this is the right path, it should tell voters exactly what it means for them. Show us the evidence,” said Duane Leo.</div>

<p>HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 19 May 2026 – The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has successfully concluded its 2nd AI Film Festival (AIFF), held recently at the Shaw Auditorium. As one of the key events celebrating HKUST’s 35th anniversary, the two-day Festival brought together industry leaders, filmmakers, scholars, students, and members of the public to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining cinematic creativity and production.</p>
<p>This year’s AIFF saw an overwhelming global response, with over 1,300 submissions—almost double that of last year—from nearly 80 countries and regions. Following a rigorous evaluation by an international jury, a number of outstanding works were recognized across key award categories*. The <strong>Best Film Award</strong> was presented to <em>The Afterlife of Aphrodite</em> by Gabriela Cardona WALTHER, a Mexican filmmaker whose work seamlessly blends personal memory and mythology to explore themes of identity, femininity, and transformation. The <strong>Best Debut AI Film</strong> <strong>Award</strong> went to <em>NeoNature</em> by Javier Gracia ALCAINE, a Spanish AI content creator who captures the beauty of natural world through cinematic, ultra-realistic wildlife documentaries with immersive storytelling.</p>
<p>In addition to these remarkable overseas works, local talent also shone at this year’s Festival. Hong Kong-based AI filmmaker KA TAM earned the <strong>Best Technical Innovation Award</strong> for <em>Project J</em>, a sci-fi action piece that demonstrates the pioneering use of AI in crafting a dystopian narrative set in a technologically controlled future. The <strong>Best Human AI Collaboration Award</strong> was presented to <em>Ash Boat</em> by OUYANG Mengke, a postgraduate student from HKUST’s Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC). Her evocative short film explores the complexities of human grief, memory, and emotion through the story of a teenage girl assigned an AI guardian in a near-future society.</p>
<p>The Festival was graced by distinguished guests, including <strong>Ms. Edith SHIH</strong>, Vice Chairperson of the HKUST Council; <strong>Mr. Kevin WANG Xikai</strong>, Station Chief of the Hong Kong Reporter Station, National Radio and Television Administration; <strong>Prof. QU Huamin</strong>, Dean of the Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) at HKUST; <strong>Prof. FU Hongbo</strong>, Acting head of AMC at HKUST, as well as other academic and industry representatives. Acclaimed local film director <strong>Mr. Stanley TONG</strong> also delivered a keynote speech, sharing insights into how AI offers new opportunities for Chinese film development by reducing trial‑and‑error costs and accelerating visual innovation, while underscoring that storytelling, human emotion, and cultural depth remain the irreplaceable core of filmmaking.</p>
<p>Alongside the screenings of shortlisted films, the Festival featured three thematic panels examining key issues in AI filmmaking. The panel titled “Future · AI Film · Production Technology” featuring <strong>Prof. RAO Anyi</strong>, Assistant Professor of AMC; <strong>Mr. Feynman LI</strong>, General Manager of the AI Content Creative Department at Tencent Online Video; <strong>Ms. Eddy CHEN</strong>, Chinese AI artist; as well as other industry representatives, addressed both the opportunities and challenges in areas such as creative control, visual consistency, and production efficiency, while also discussing how AI is accelerating content creation and empowering smaller creative teams.</p>
<p>Building on this discussion, the panel titled “Reshaping Light and Shadow: Film Aesthetics and Authorship in the AI Era,” featuring local film director and HKUST alumnus <strong>Mr. KA Sing-Fung</strong>; local film producer <strong>Ms. TO Chi-Long</strong>; Korean film director <strong>Prof. Chul HEO</strong>; and other academic representatives, explored how AI is reshaping cinematic aesthetics and authorship, highlighting the importance of integrating tools, performance, and storytelling while preserving creative originality. Another panel titled “Cultural Memories and Digital Heritage,” featuring <strong>Dr. Vennes CHEN</strong>G, Lecturer of AMC; <strong>Mr. HO Rui-An</strong>, Singaporean artist and writer; and other experts, examined how AI can reconstruct and reinterpret historical materials while emphasizing ethical considerations in balancing preservation, interpretation, and authenticity.</p>
<p>Beyond the screenings and discussions, this year’s Festival introduced an exhibition gallery showcasing AI film materials and selected student projects from AMC in an immersive, installation-based format, featuring works such as interactive robotic arms and a facial-capture device. To further enhance real-world impact, AIFF also strengthened its industry engagement through strategic collaborations with leading AI enterprises, including Tencent, Kling, TapNow, and MiniMax, effectively bridging academic innovation with professional AI filmmaking practices.</p>
<p>As part of its commitment to nurturing future talent, HKUST further enriched its educational outreach for this year’s AIFF. A series of workshops and a 36-hour AI film hackathon for secondary school students were introduced in March to deepen their understanding of AI generated content and to empower the next generation of innovators. The winning student work premiered during the Festival’s opening screening, reinforcing the event’s role as a platform where education, industry, and creative practice meaningfully converge.</p>
<p><strong>Prof. Qu Huamin</strong>, Dean of AIS at HKUST, said, “The HKUST AIFF is more than a celebration of digital creativity; it also bridges the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world practice, driving the development of art and technology in academia and industry. <p>SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 19 May 2026 – Genetron Corp., a provider of test and measurement equipment in Singapore, has introduced Deminars, a regional initiative to help engineers strengthen practical measurement and troubleshooting capabilities. Combining the concepts of “Demonstration” and “Seminar,” these technical training seminars integrate technical education with live equipment demonstrations, helping engineers connect theoretical concepts with real-world testing and validation applications across industries.</p>
<p><figure data-width="100%" data-caption="<span style=">Genetron Introduces Regional “Deminars” to Bridge the Gap Between Test Theory and Real-World Application” data-caption-display=”block” data-image-width=”0″ data-image-height=”0″ class=”c6″ readability=”1.5″><figcaption class="c5" readability="3">
<p><em><span>Genetron Introduces Regional “Deminars” to Bridge the Gap Between Test Theory and Real-World Application</span></em></p>
</figcaption></figure>
</p>
<p><strong><br /></strong> <strong>Addressing Growing Complexity in Modern Engineering Validation</strong></p>
<p>As industries adopt emerging technologies such as wide bandgap power devices and high-speed digital interfaces, engineering teams are facing increasingly complex validation, debugging, and compliance challenges. Signal integrity, power integrity, and measurement accuracy have also become more critical across modern product development environments, particularly as systems operate at higher speeds and tighter tolerances.</p>
<p>Despite wider access to advanced test equipment, many teams may still rely on legacy measurement approaches or have limited exposure to newer testing methodologies and tools. At the same time, accurately interpreting measurement results and identifying root causes continue to require strong application knowledge and practical measurement experience.</p>
<p>In response to these evolving challenges, Genetron introduced its Deminar programme to provide engineers with a more application-focused learning environment. Unlike conventional training seminars that focus primarily on theory, Genetron’s Deminars integrate technical education with live demonstrations using real equipment and practical application scenarios.</p>
<div readability="16">
<p><strong>Combining Technical Education with Real-World Demonstration</strong></p>
<p>Genetron’s Deminars are primarily designed for engineers and technical teams involved in research and development, product validation, debugging, and system development. Rather than focusing purely on product features or theoretical discussions, the sessions are structured around practical engineering challenges commonly encountered during development and testing processes.</p>
</div>
<p>A typical Deminar begins with an overview of the technology trend or validation challenge being discussed, including the industry drivers behind the adoption of newer technologies and the measurement implications that follow. From there, the sessions move into live demonstrations using actual test and measurement equipment within application-based setups.</p>
<div readability="12"><strong>Currently, the Deminars cover topics such as:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr">Testing methodologies for emerging technologies, including SiC and GaN wide bandgap power applications</li>
<li dir="ltr">Signal integrity challenges in high-speed serial communications</li>
<li dir="ltr">Practical probing techniques and measurement best practices aimed at improving signal fidelity and ensuring more reliable test results</li>
</ul>
<p>Participants may also take part in guided hands-on exercises or structured measurement activities designed to reinforce technical concepts through direct application. Each session concludes with result analysis, discussions on common testing pitfalls, and practical recommendations that engineers can apply within their own development environments.</p>
</div>
<p><strong>Expanding Technical Knowledge Across Southeast Asia</strong></p>
<p>Currently, Genetron has conducted Deminars across several countries in the region, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and The Philippines.</p>
<p>Rather than tailoring sessions according to geography alone, Genetron customises each Deminar based on the industries, engineering applications, and technical challenges relevant to participating organisations. This allows the sessions to remain highly application-focused and directly aligned with the practical requirements faced by engineering teams in different sectors.</p>
<p>The programme is developed and led internally by Genetron’s engineering team. While the company works closely with technology principals and equipment manufacturers to incorporate current test and measurement solutions into demonstration setups, the seminar content, workflows, and technical demonstrations are independently developed by Genetron’s engineers to ensure practical relevance and technical accuracy.</p>
<div><strong>Supporting Long-Term Engineering Development</strong></div>
<div readability="19">
<p>According to Mr John Ong Moh Taur, the Managing Director of Genetron Corp, feedback from participants has been highly positive.</p>
<p>“Many engineers appreciate the combination of technical training seminars with practical demonstrations, as it helps them better understand both the capabilities and limitations of modern test and measurement tools,” Mr Ong shared. “The sessions have also helped customers improve confidence in measurement accuracy, troubleshooting workflows, and preparation for future validation requirements.”</p>
</div>
<p>As test and measurement requirements continue evolving alongside next-generation electronics and digital systems, Genetron plans to expand the Deminar programme with additional topics covering advanced debugging techniques, compliance testing methodologies, signal integrity analysis, and future power electronics applications.</p>
<p>“At Genetron, we believe that engineering excellence comes from combining the right tools with deep application knowledge,” said Mr Ong. “The Deminar initiative reflects our commitment to supporting the engineering community through practical technical education, application expertise, and real-world measurement experience.”</p>
<p>By helping engineers better understand modern test challenges and methodologies, the company aims to become a trusted technical partner for our customers’ current and future development needs.</p>

<div readability="149.62833397758">KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Media OutReach Newswire – 19 May 2026 – As healthcare costs continue to rise and chronic health risks become more prevalent, many Malaysians are still delaying essential healthcare, not because they are unaware of its importance, but because access, affordability and convenience remain key barriers.</p>

</p>
<p>According to the Ministry of Health Malaysia, out-of-pocket expenses accounted for 37% of total healthcare funding in 2022, making it one of the largest sources of healthcare financing in the country. Meanwhile, findings from the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2023 showed that 12.9% of Malaysians avoided seeking medical treatment due to financial constraints.</p>
<p>This is especially concerning as Malaysia continues to face a growing burden of chronic health conditions. Previous national findings have shown that one in five Malaysian adults are living with diabetes, reinforcing the importance of early detection, regular screening and consistent health monitoring.</p>
<p>While Malaysians are increasingly encouraged to take charge of their health earlier, proactive health monitoring often comes with additional upfront costs. Individuals who choose to screen early and more comprehensively may end up paying more simply because they are trying to prevent health issues before they happen.</p>
<p>Together, these trends highlight a widening gap in preventive healthcare. While services such as blood screening, vaccination, vision checks, hearing assessments and physiotherapy support are available, many individuals may not prioritise them until symptoms appear or conditions become more serious.</p>
<p>In response, Alpro Health, the corporate wellness arm of Alpro Group that supports organisations and communities in improving health and well-being, has introduced CarePass, an annual healthcare pass designed to simplify access to essential preventive healthcare services and encourage Malaysians to take a more proactive approach to managing their health.</p>
<p>Priced at RM99 per year, CarePass gives users access to a comprehensive range of preventive healthcare services worth over RM600, including a complete essential blood screening package, flu vaccination, eye screening for glaucoma risk with optometrist review and eye health supplement for daily eye health support, comprehensive hearing test with audiologist consultation, physiotherapy neck and back relief therapy, unlimited online doctor consultation, personal accident protection coverage, and basic dental screening and oral health advice, which will be introduced soon.</p>
<p>By consolidating multiple healthcare services into one annual pass, CarePass aims to reduce the cumulative cost of preventive care by up to 80%, while making health monitoring more structured, accessible, and convenient for individuals and families. More importantly, the initiative is designed to provide Malaysians with a stronger reason to take action earlier, before minor health concerns develop into more complex conditions.</p>
<p>“At the ground level, we often see patients seeking care only after their conditions have progressed,” said Then Ru Luen, Founder of CarePass and Director of Alpro Health. “Many of these situations could have been managed earlier with timely screening, monitoring and professional advice. The challenge today is not only awareness, but accessibility, affordability and having a meaningful push for people to take the first step. CarePass was created to make preventive care easier, more comprehensive and more valuable, so more Malaysians can take action before health problems become more serious.”</p>
<p>The initiative is supported by Alpro Group’s integrated healthcare ecosystem, which brings together services across Alpro Pharmacy, Alpro Clinic, Alpro Physio, Alpro Audiologi and Alpro OptiSaver. Through this connected network, CarePass users are able to access multidisciplinary healthcare support in a more convenient and coordinated manner.</p>
<p>CarePass is designed for individuals and families who want a more affordable and structured way to monitor their health, especially those who may otherwise delay screenings, consultations or early interventions due to cost, time or complexity.</p>
<p>The service is now available at Alpro Pharmacy outlets nationwide and can be activated via the Alpro App. More information is available on https://carepass.com.my/</p>
<p>As Malaysia continues to face increasing healthcare demands, improving access to preventive care will play a vital role in encouraging earlier intervention, reducing long-term health risks, and supporting better health outcomes for the community.</p>
