Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

Online pet and veterinarian medications supplier Vet Post have created and launched a unique fundraising program aimed to help community groups across New Zealand. “The Vet Post team love helping community organisations”, said Dr Rebecca Walker, Vet Posts founder. “We understand that many community groups are finding it hard to fundraise and that we are in a cost-of-living crisis, that is why we decided to do something that is a true win, win, win scenario”.

The Fur-raising Program is designed to be an easy and simple way for community groups to raise much needed funds. Emma Sladek, Vet Posts Operations and Marketing Manager said that “We have not restricted who can join the program, as we understand there are many small groups within the community doing a great job that are not a registered charity. We have made the process as easy as possible for community organisations to join, get started and start to receive donations”. Sladek loves the idea that the Fur-raising Program is also not too time consuming as she understands that many volunteers are already stretched on time.
“An organisation simply needs to register themselves at www.furraising.org,nz, share some prepared social posts with their unique link and QR Code, and any purchases made via the Vet Post website will attract a donation,” said Walker.

Dr Walker founded Vet Post almost 10 years ago as she really wanted to provide New Zealand pet owners with affordable pet medications and supplies. Vet Post has recently moved into a larger warehouse to cope with the growth in its customer base. With over 1,500 products available to pet owners and next business day delivery, Vet Post has something for all pet owners. The Vet Post team are mostly veterinarians and veterinary nurses who all have a passion for helping animals.

“The Fur-raising Program is part of the way the team at Vet Post can give back to the community,” said Dr Walker. “All our team are animal lovers and between us we have over 33 pets within the team and many of our team foster and help to rehome pets as well. Animals are in our DNA”.

Vet Post have also recently set up a charitable trust and the first service will be a community de-sexing mobile trailer, which is currently in construction. “We called the program Mr Snippy and we want to help to reduce the burden that stray animals have on the community and nature” said Dr Walker. Mr Snippy will be launching shortly and further information can be found at www.mrsnippy.co.nz.

Cows can’t jump over the moon but Kiwi ninjas might be able to.

Ninja Jumped Over the Moon is an epic, nationwide exercise and fund-raising challenge to be held over a 24 hour period from 20-21 January 2023 during which the organisers hope to bounce a total height of 357,000 kilometres on trampolines, burn 30 million calories and raise $1M+ for the KidsCan charity.

Ninja Valley, a 10,000 cubic metre indoor playground in Hamilton, is hosting the event and hopes to register and mobilise more than 5,000 residential trampolines across New Zealand to participate in the 24 hour challenge. Teams and individuals can register themselves on the Raisely campaign page, set their own goals and set about seeking sponsorship and donations from their own networks, neighbourhoods, family and friends.

“It is an absolutely monumental challenge”, says Ninja Valley co-founder Grant Beuzeval. “357,000 kilometres into the air will require 100,000 hours of bouncing and 30 million calories of energy but the multiple benefits are equally as inspirational”.

“We love the idea of the nation coming together in the name of exercise and charity, gathering around neighbourhood trampolines with deck chairs, the BBQ/kai and maybe a tent pitched on the lawn for a sleepover while one person remains bouncing at all times. That sounds like a lot of fun at the backend of the school holidays”, added Beuzeval.

KidsCan was selected as the beneficiary charity based on their exemplary work in providing the 1 in 5 Kiwi kids affected by poverty the essentials they need to learn. Ninja Valley is aligned with the KidsCan belief that education is a child’s ticket out of poverty and gives them the opportunity for a better future.

“This is a really fun way to make a real difference to children in hardship, who are who are having a particularly tough time right now as the cost-of-living soars,” says KidsCan CEO and founder Julie Chapman. “We’re very grateful to Ninja Valley and to all the kind Kiwis who take part in this event. The food, shoes, jackets and health items we provide are needed now more than ever.”

Ninja Valley will host and livestream broadcast the event from its headquarters in Hamilton with continuous updates about the distance jumped and the funds raised.

Event details:

Event Name: Ninja Jumped Over the Moon
Registration: https://ninja-jumped-over-the-moon.raisely.com/
Start date & time: 5pm, Friday 20th January 2023
End date and time: 5pm, Saturday 21st January 2023
Organiser: Ninja Valley Limited, Hamilton www.ninjavalley.co.nz
Contact: Grant Beuzeval, Co-founder/Director, Ninja Valley Limited
Contact email: moon@ninjavalley.co.nz
Facebook page: @ninjamoonjump (https://www.facebook.com/ninjamoonjump)
Instagram page: @ninjamoonchallenge (https://www.instagram.com/ninjamoonchallenge/)
Distance to the moon: In 2023, the moon will be at its closest to the Earth on 22nd January – a mere 356,569 kilometres away.

Source: Press Release Service

Ana Meredith, a hard-working Mother of 3, is heavily invested in creating a positive mindset awareness not only within her 3 young children but across the entire country. It was her 5-year-old daughter that had the light bulb moment, “Mummy we should write a book to tell other children how their brains are magic too!”.

Ana and her daughter wrote ‘My Brain is Magic’, an interactive Children’s book to promote confidence, gratitude, wellbeing and mindset awareness. “It is a book that I hope will start an entire movement across NZ. I hope to promote positive mindset awareness in Children and, just importantly in parents! I believe this is the most important life lesson a person can teach.”

As a family the Meredith’s’ run 3 businesses plus Ana works fulltime. She enjoys this ‘working while raising a young family’ lifestyle and wants to set this work ethic as an example to her Children.
“The time I have with my 3 young children is extremely precious & within those hours I actively try to engrain strong values, morals & positive mindset awareness while we playfully interact.”

Ana needed an efficient, effective tool to use at a convenient time to help her teach mindset awareness. She was seeking something simple yet interesting enough to captivate her children on a daily basis to ensure they gain a thorough understanding of the Mindset concept. The Childrens Book she created; My Brain is Magic, has become her perfect educating tool.

At 35 years old Ana felt ready to start concentrating a big part of her life towards giving back & making a difference. Make-A-Wish New Zealand is proudly onboard to support the Children’s Book & believes in Ana’s ambitious dream of raising $1 million dollars for Make-A-Wish New Zealand who support critically ill children in NZ.

In October, Ana was faced with a heart-breaking prospect. Specialists were concerned her Baby had a brain tumour. “While I only had to face a minimal timeframe of fear as I received positive results immediately post the brain scan, the experience of being in and out of hospital gave me an overwhelming drive to help children and parents in NZ who are going through unimaginable circumstances.” Ana decided $1 of every copy sold would be donated to her chosen charity, Make-A-Wish New Zealand and will be donating her time to the foundation.

Every book comes with a free gift; a special wishing stone for children to wish upon as they drift off to sleep. Ana mentioned this concept has become a great mindful tool that helps the kids to fall asleep dreaming wonderful dreams.

“Doing this with my 5-year-old daughter has been life changing for the both of us! More importantly I hope it can kick start my mindset awareness mission across NZ”. Ana would like to see the subject of Mindset awareness having a bigger presence within the primary and secondary school curriculum here in NZ.

Online gift retailer Giftbox Boutique has raised $17,864 for the I Am Hope charity through their pre-Christmas donation drive. Every year leading into the Christmas period, Giftbox Boutique runs their red ribbon campaign.

The red ribbon campaign offers customers the option to replace the standard black ribbon with a festive red ribbon for an additional $1. Giftbox Boutique then matches all these donations resulting in a $2 donation for every gift box that leaves their depot with a red ribbon.

This year the company set a goal to make this red ribbon appeal their most successful to date. They managed to blow last years’ donation out of the water, doubling their collection from 2020.

The 2020 red ribbon appeal saw an impressive $8,804 raised for the SPCA.

“We are over the moon with the results of our 2021 red ribbon appeal”, says Giftbox Boutique Director, Katie Gray. “Being able to double our donation from last year is a real testament to our supportive customer base”.

The 2021 red ribbon appeal varied slightly from past appeals. In the past, the company left it up to their Facebook followers to vote on the chosen charity for that year.

“We were a little worried that removing the voting aspect could hurt our chances of raising a large sum. After such a testing year, we wanted to contribute to a charity that contributed to supporting Kiwis with their mental health. I am Hope was the perfect fit”.

“We are so happy that our lovely customers felt the same way and really threw their support behind it”.

The next ribbon appeal from Giftbox Boutique will commence in the lead up to Mother’s Day and will be available on the purchase of all Mother’s Day Gifts.

(PR.co.nz) New Zealand’s premium weighted blanket brand Sleep Heavy are kicking off a special giveaway for our country’s most deserving frontline responders on Monday, September 7th: One very lucky winner will be selected to win their very own Sleep Heavy blanket. Known to help relieve stress and anxiety, weighted blankets have also been shown to help users fall asleep deeper and wake up feeling refreshed.

“We’ve been talking internally about how to give back to the men and women of New Zealand who are our healthcare workers, nurses, doctors, teachers, grocery store workers, delivery drivers, pharmacists, police and firemen; all of those who are showing up, over and over, to keep us safe,” said Indy Carr, co-founder of Sleep Heavy. “The lockdown has affected all of us, so we really wanted to do something to give back to those who stepped up for us – and continue to do so – in a time of crisis.”

To enter to win one of Sleep Heavy’s premium weighted Queen/King blankets (RRP $479.99), Sleep Heavy is asking the New Zealand public to nominate an essential worker they know who lives in New Zealand. As part of their efforts to further spread the love, Sleep Heavy is also offering a very special discount of $50 off all weighted blankets – including sale items – for all essential workers for a limited time!

“The giveaway will go live and be hosted on our social media channels (@sleepheavynz),” shared Cory Mitchell, Sleep Heavy’s co-founder. “We’ve had folks from all over NZ come to us with amazing stories about what the essential workers in their lives have been doing to help fight the virus, and we want these stories to be heard. We’re excited to give away one of these blankets to some lucky and deserving people!”

Sleep Heavy’s special essential workers discount will be available starting September 7, 2020 and will end at midnight on September 14, 2020. For more information about Sleep Heavy or to see their blankets, you can visit their website at www.sleepheavy.co.nz

Source: Press Release Service – New Zealand

Giftbox Boutique has launched its blue ribbon appeal, an initiative which will raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ.

The online retailer sells gift baskets and hampers and will be giving their customers the option of adding a decorative blue ribbon to their order for an extra one dollar. Giftbox Boutique will then match this donation, meaning two dollars donated to Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ for each gift basket purchased with a blue ribbon.

Occasions like Father’s Day are traditionally Giftbox Boutique’s busiest. So, the company run their charity drives around these occasions. Recently the company ran a pink ribbon appeal for Mother’s Day, an initiative which saw over $2700 raised for the Breast Cancer Foundation.

“Our customers have been very receptive to our previous coloured ribbon campaigns”, explains Giftbox Boutique Director, Katie Gray. “We expect this Father’s Day to be our busiest to date so we are extra excited to see how much we can raise for the Blue September Campaign”.

Blue September is an annual campaign by the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ to increase awareness, encourage men to get checked and fundraise to eliminate death and suffering from prostate cancer.

Each year, New Zealand loses roughly 600 men to prostate cancer. Many of these deaths are preventable if we detect the disease early. Too many men suffer in silence and only get checked when it is too late.

“Blue September is such an important campaign”, says Gray. “It encourages open conversations around prostate cancer and gets the word out about the dangers of the disease. The foundation relies solely on donations, so we are encouraging all our customers to get on board with our blue ribbon drive”.

A blue ribbon can be added to any order made on the Giftbox Boutique website between now and Father’s Day. The 2020 Father’s Day gift range is now available to purchase, and users can select their blue ribbon upon checkout.
