Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Luke Ganz, who is missing.
Police hold significant concerns for the 34-year-old Aucklander’s wellbeing.
Luke was last seen in central Auckland at around 4.46pm on 29 October on Queen Street.
“At the time he was travelling south between the intersections with Wyndham and Victoria streets,” Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend says.
Luke was wearing a blue temporary overall suit at the time.
Luke has several distinctive tattoos across his forearms and neck, one of which being a wooden cross on the centre of his neck.
Just after midday on 31 October, Police located a backcountry-style backpack in water at the entrance to the Auckland Viaduct.
“A search of the backpack has located documentation relating to Luke, which increases our concerns for his wellbeing,” Detective Senior Sergeant Friend says.
If you have seen Luke or have any information on his movements, please contact Police.
You can call 105 using the reference number 261031/4962.
