Police investigating the murder of Garry Hazelton are appealing to the public for information which may assist enquiries.
Operation Trailside was launched on 7 October after the 64-year-old’s body was found at his home on Hoeroa Street.
Detective Senior Sergeant Shane Pilmer, of Whangārei CIB, says investigators are continuing to follow strong lines of enquiry.
“As Police piece together the events surrounding Mr Hazelton’s death, we believe there are people in the community who hold information that can aid our investigation.
“We urge those who know something, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact Police.
“Our priority is providing answers for Mr Hazelton’s loved ones and bringing those responsible to justice.”
Police have previously appealed for sightings of a small silver hatchback, described as similar to an early 2000s Nissan March, which was seen in the area prior to Mr Hazelton’s death.
We continue to seek information on the vehicle’s movements between 5pm on Monday 5 October until 5pm on Wednesday 7 October.
“Police would like to thank members of the public who have provided information to the enquiry team to date,” Detective Senior Sergeant Pilmer says.
Anyone with information that can assist Police enquiries is asked to contact 105 using the file number 261007/7751 and quoting Operation Trailside.
Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
