A man is due to reappear in Tauranga District Court at the end of next month charged with damaging election hoardings.
Police were called to Papamoa Beach Road around 8pm on 16 September to reports of a man causing a disturbance near Bermuda Street.
On arrival, Police saw a man damaging election hoardings.
He was arrested and taken into custody, and faces two charges of wilful damage in relation.
The 49-year-old is due to reappear in Tauranga District Court on 30 October.
It is the second such arrest in relation to damaged elections hoardings in the Tauranga area recently.
A 43-year-old man is due to reappear in court on 2 October on four charges of wilful damage.
Police hope these arrests send a strong message that anyone who choses to cause this type of damage will face the consequences.
