Emergency services are in attendance at a two-vehicle crash on SH10, Kaeo.
The crash was reported to Police at 4.20pm.
Two people have been transported to hospital: one is in a critical condition, and the other is in a serious condition.
Diversions are in place via Matauri Bay Road to Whangaroa, and vehicles will need to do the full loop. Vehicles south of Pakaraka are advised to travel via SH 1.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and expect delays.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
