Police seek witnesses to serious crash, Lindis Pass

Source: New Zealand Police

Attributable to Sergeant Tony Woodbridge of Oamaru Police:

Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a serious two-vehicle crash in Lindis Pass this morning, which left three people in critical condition.

Emergency services were called to the scene, at Omarama, near Dalrachney Station, about 7.40am.

Three people were transported to hospital, where they remain in critical condition, and our thoughts are with their families at this extremely difficult time.

The road was closed for several hours while the Serious Crash Unit examined the scene.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or who might have dashcam footage of it.

In particular, Police are hoping to speak with a man we believe witnessed the crash and was one of the first people on scene.

He left before Police arrived, and we are hoping he will come forward and speak with us to help us build a picture of what occurred.

If this is you, or if you are another witness or have information that could help, please use our 105 service and quote reference number 260822/3804.

Police would also like to extend thanks to those who stopped at the scene to provide emergency first aid to those who were injured, and to the wider community for their patience while the road was closed.
