Two major roads are closed in Hokitika following a serious crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Police were called to the incident just before 9am.
Fitzherbert and Park streets remain closed while emergency services are on scene.
One person has sustained serious injuries and is being transported to hospital.
Police ask motorists to avoid the area.
